The Bills have drafted very well in the later rounds over Schoen's time there. Also have done very well gambling on free agency, like Mitch Morse for example. Morse is a key piece, and a leader of that entire team. THAT is the type of difference maker you want when overpaying in FA. They have done it right in Buffalo and had to know that Josh Allen was a great kid to take that chance with him, he was as raw as it gets they had the for sight and conviction to take a chance on him, make no mistake this kid worked his tail off in the offseason and transformed himself. That is scouting at it's very best

Who would that be?? Because I think we can all agree that the players they've brought in since 2010 have mostly been disappointments. Those drafts were awful from 2011 onward. I would've gotten rid of a lot of players too. The only one I didn't feel right about was JPP. I thought he just needed most plays off, was constantly on the field because the depth sucked at DE. It seems something went awry with their front office "team" when Reese was promoted and Gettleman left for Carolina. Both of those guys helped Accorsi majorly..I think their replacements were part of the problem during that period of time. Marc Ross for instance 2009 on through the Gettlemen years it has been bad really, Joe Schoen seems to be about collaboration this franchise has been through ten years of arrogance Schoen seems to be a people person and understand he will only be as good as his people closest to him are. People should really go back and look at the 09 draft. they missed majorly on Rhett Bomar (never saw any potential in that pick), and the 2,3 cbs they drafted. They should've drafted at least 1 DE. They also passed up Jason McCourty in the 6th on a CB they cut before preseason (if I remember). Also, the next pick after Clint Sintim was Connor Barwin lol. Clint Sintim made no sense as he was a 3-4 edge player that they tried making a 4-3 OLB. Was terrible. Barwin would've been better (if they Used him at DE). Sintim was never even effect in the 4-3 odd/under. Nicks, Beatty, Andre Brown were all nice finds though! But it's interesting going back and looking at how those drafts panned out

Most championship caliber teams need savvy vets and young stars. Because of the mishandling of funds and the dart board style of FA, NYG has had to let worthy guys walk. I remember watching young JPP soaking up Tucks leadership, wondering if that would be him someday. Well, he certainly is that type of leader for Tampa now. Yeah, many of us thought the torch was being passed; Strahan-Osi/Tuck-JPP...problem is they never drafted JPP's sidekick. Instead they drafted DaMONSTER Moore lmao. He was always good for a personal foul lol. JPP was a casualty of those poor drafts and bad injury luck. In retrospect they probably would've been better off just over paying for Osi until 2016 when he retired lol. Think ATL didn't even sign him for much... Tuck to, he offered them the home town discount instead they let him walk to the Raiders. he was past his prime yes but more productive then anyone we had especially against thee run. This was the Arrogance, same with we believe in our OL the guys we brought here 2 different Regimes same fatal flaws.

I was right Think about it... Unger works in at LG as a rookie when Suebert eventually falls apart that year and plays there in 2010..then moves over to C when O'HARA falls apart ... They don't have to spend on Baas as you have your starting C the next 5 to 7 years at a high level So no cap issues in 2012 and 2013..no need go draft Richburg in 2014 With C solidified long term better guard play...of course Beatty being ruined by out training staff offseason 2015 ruins a lot of this

The only time he really played was in 2012 and 2013. Idk what it is but they gotta fix this injury plague the team has had since the Coughlin era

Was just a slap in the face when the OL was atrocious. Classic Reese/Ross pick. I was never impressed by his college film, just had a feeling they wouldn't utilize him properly and he'd be a disappointment as a result

Really Nicks and Beatty were that draft go back an take a look youn can't survive drafting 1 or 2 starters a draft and some were only starters here. Very true. Brown was a good back, but always hurt. Constantly In the end even Beatty he took a couple years to get on the field and was pretty good that first year but injuries and uneven play made it like a 2 year career of good football 2013 when Gregg Hardy abused him he was the worst tackle in football before he broke his leg near the end of the year. This what has plagued this team wether it was Reese or Gettlemen drafting.

Yes this was the time that they should have been thinking ahead about the OL keeping young healthy bodies in the pipeline. These decisions are the ones that shaped our collapse. and it continued with more dopey decisions with Gettlemen. Beatty was a tough on it took him awhile to get on the field and it was 2 years and he was gone 2013 he was terrible then he broke his leg that might have been merciful he was playing at such a pathetic level. I think the talent was there but it was always something his Back then he had a detached Retina think he had a pec somewhere in there and throw in the uneven play it really hurt.

....evaluating player talent. I think if I were to pick ONE problem the Giants have had I'd pick that. Sure you can pick coaching, assistants, meddling by Mara's, the lack of picking the right coach or GM by the Mara's but if I look back at the last ten years, our picks never seem to work out and we're constantly talking about draft picks or FA's who "haven't worked out." I hope to GOD Schoen is good at finding a staff to evaluate player talent. We need a Diggs, a Beasley, an Allen...etc. much easier for the fickle mob to blame each coach and then back peddle to acknowledge the roster. They’ll never work again they scream . . . Oh look Coughlin helped the Jags, Shumur is helping the Broncos and Mac is the OC is Carolina. Meanwhile, our Giants keep losing.

TC is the HC type--leader of men. I saw Judge as possibly becoming an effective HC but I certainly understand why they went the route they did.

According to the stories, Gettleman nixed a lot of players that the scouts were high on for players he and Mara liked. Not defending any of the current scouts, but our biggest problem just "retired" like who? Parsons?

Schoen keeps using the word collaboration which is a great tone to set compared to what Getty sounded like.

I would say "Player Development"
Guys don't get better here, instead they go elsewhere and play better and become more productive and the same thing will happen with Evan Engram once he leaves and get to go play with a Good QB. They will give up on Will Hernandez and he will go elsewhere and be more productive like Pugh and Flowers. Like Romeo Okwara with the Lions, Oshane Ximines will probably end up with another team and break out and get double digit sacks in a season. BJ Hill had a career year with the Bengals after trading him away so yeah this Organizations is clearly doing something wrong after they bring these players in here

How do we reconcile BPA at #2 alongside 2 first round picks (received in a trade for our #2) that are now starting on the OL? I think it is too one dimensional to view the draft as either BPA or drafting to need. It's a more dynamic decision imo. It's honestly fluid.. Nelson was not considered BPA on a lot of teams boards due to position value... Often a QB is not BPA but because position value that is ursurped.usurped.. It is hard. I mean you have to weight BPA with the BPA at your weak positions. Then you also have to consider how much you really need that BPA. Factor trading down and getting crap if you miss…. I know I couldn’t do it

Its not just finding new picks, either, we've casually just let a ton of proven nfl level talent walk right out the door the last few years, and never replaced them with their equivalent.

Our drafts sucked way before Gettleman. From 2009-2013 we had a grand total of 19 players out of the league in 2014. Since our last super bowl, Beckham and Shepard are the only players to receive an extension. This roster has been in hospice for sometime now. You don’t lose as much as we do on one man alone. It takes a collaborative effort of ineptness from everyone. Gettleman, just compounded the mistake with his own idiotic ways of building a roster. Who else would be to blame, Ross and Chris Mara? That's who things point to for me anyways, or at least as accomplices The fact that John thinks Chris is a "skilled player evaluator" should scare the crap out of any fan and makes it obvious he does "evaluate" players with at least some input. NO ONE in that org is skilled at picking players (or anything else really).

BJ Hill had a career year with the Bengals after trading him away so yeah this Organizations is clearly doing something wrong after they bring these players in here I get what you are saying here but I think Engram is a poor example. It's tough because he's a great kid and good locker room guy, but to hang his disappointment on Jones is unfair. It could easily be spun the other way. IF he makes just a few of his key opportunities(makes the catch) instead of drops or even worse--bats into air for int, the last 3 seasons could have looked different. Just the 2020 season alone his miscues could have turned 3 different games into wins. If he makes that one catch in Philly NYG are division winners. He's super talented but not clutch. I wish him well. Engram was just drafted too high for a team that needed meat n potatoes, not cake. His lack of impact was compounded this year because of the atrocious line. It won't surprise me at all if he lands somewhere and contributes to an already loaded roster. There are definitely many promising players that I did not understand letting walk, including Okwara and Hill. I have to believe its usually due to mismanagement of dollars. As for Ximines, I will be shocked if he ends up an impact player. I don't see the desire. The one time he fires off the ball he gets nailed for a brainless offsides costing NYG a win over the Chiefs. Yes the Chiefs in KC, the same team that will play for a shot to go to the SB this Sunday. A play that probably cost many men their jobs.

A play that probably cost many men their jobs. not just blaming DJ but Coaches as well, they never used Engram to the best of his abilities, now of course TE's having to help a Poor line also prevents TE's from being used in the Passing Game as well Raiders TE Darren Waller is what Engram was suppose to be
