I hope Payton doesn't take the Dallas job. Rumor is Jerry wants to get rid of MaCarthy and have Sean Payton as the HC.

Payton, 58, still has three years remaining on his deal with the Saints after signing his latest extension in 2019. So, the Saints would maintain his rights if he decides to return to coaching -- and could require compensation if he wants to coach for another team. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-away-16-years

let's get him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol they cannot just sign him up. He's still under contract and not fired by the Saints. Would need to be a trade and it would be costly and crippling.

Beat me to it. Unless the Saints can fleece someone, why would they trade him? Especially inter-conference. And, I get the sense he’s either retiring or uninterested in working through a rebuild. Betcha he’s putting the headset down for awhile.

Why? He's much better than anyone else available. He's a good coach, no question about that. I just don't have the stomach for watching him whine to the league every time his propensity to over coach has caused the team to once again grab defeat from the jaws of victory. The drama to championship ratio is way too high for me.

He's going to sit out a year and wait for Mike McCarthy to fall on his face next season and then Jerry will mortgage the farm to hire him for the 2023 season.

I heard that there is a belief that Aikman will split Fox for the upcoming Amazon broadcasts, and Payton will take his spot.

Why? He's much better than anyone else available. He's not available Technically he is. Everyone is available. Sure he's under contract thru 2024 but NO can either get something for him or nothing for him. Wouldn't take three 1st rounders as spouted above. The Saints/Gayle Benson don't have the leverage here. Payton is one of the 4 or 5 best coaches in the NFL. He's in the tier under Belicheat. He did a phenomenal job with the Saints this year. I'm gonna post here a bit more info even though. Just for informational purposes. : www.bloggingtheboys.com/2022/1/25/22901485/dallas-cowboys-had-deal-trade-sean-payton-until-anthony-davis-wanted-out-new-orleans-jerry-jonesPayton owns a home in Southlake, Tx. a money suburb between Dallas and Ft Worth where a lot of Cowboy players and former players live. Booger (Jerry) and Payton are close. Booger is not happy with Corky (Fat Mac) and said as much Monday in his radio show on 105 The Fan. I'd say Fat Mac is on a one year prove it trial if he lasts that long (JMHO). I've never heard Booger sound like he did on Monday. The big thing is the fact Dallas attempted to get Payton in 2019. Think about it. These Sean Payton to Dallas rumors surface here (around the Cowboys) annually but they really kicked up a notch a few days ago. Jane Slater was on it before Payton announced he was stepping away from the Saints. And I mean on the Payton to Dallas gig! This is just some whine I am having with my cheese. woof woof

NO is like 73 million over the cap. About to be a total gut job there. He knows he will be coaching a trash roster. Time to take a break and if he wants back in later there will be takers
