The GM is clearly bringing in people that he has rapport with. Buffalo has a really good team and I like that we are getting people from a recently successful organization. Cant hurt. I just wish we snaked Dorsey. Seems like that would have been the most important piece to transitioning the offense they used in Buffalo to here. That was going to be virtually impossible,no way they were going to lose their entire offensive staff in one swoop..

IMO, Dorsey looked at both situations to see which would lead to a quicker path at getting a HC job. Being a coordinator on a SB contender is clearly a faster path to that. Comfort with Josh Allen and working with a far superior QB also helped Buffalo's case. I don't blame him. 100% on target there with that assumption. For him, it was a no brainer.

Dudes like daboll and schoen, both probably having long dreamed of these positions, im sure theyve thought for years on who theyd bring with them, how theyd run this, people like these guys have already been hc's and gm's in their minds a long time. While at once its a little weird pilfering half of buffalos staff, I get it, theyre bringing on everyone theyve probably long thought of having by their side.
Ultimately I think its a good thing. This will already be a more cohesive team from day one than we've had in ten years.

That or his plan is to build what the Bills have. If so, then he seems to be bringing in everyone that wants to come over that already knows the Bills way...which is really weird to say when it doesn't involve the Jim Kelly Bills. Still have faith in the guy, but it would be nice to bring people from other organizations so he can get a different perspective. Diversity of opinion and trying to build something of your own is far better than trying to create a knockoff. The OC hire will be outside the Bills organization.

Maybe, but there is way less risk with staying on a team he knows with players he knows that is in a good position to be competitive for a while rather than taking a shot with a team that has not won in a decade.

Add coming here and having success with Jones puts him on a faster path. That is true as a QB coach. Now he gets to call plays with a top 5 at worst QB and be a coordinator on a Super Bowl contender, luxuries that he would not have here. Coordinators from those types of teams are constantly in consideration for HC jobs. Both Rams coordinators have interviewed (McConnell looks like he will be the Vikings new HC) and we interviewed the Bengals DC.

Really is a no-win crowd......people are actually complaining that too many Buffalo personnel are being brought over?!?!?!? How could pulling anyone.....hell...even janitors from a franchise that has gone to the playoffs in 3 straight years with a combined record of 34-15 be a bad thing?!?!?!? Especially when this franchise has gone 14-35 over the same timeframe and hasn't sniffed the playoffs since 2016 which was kind of a fluke appearance. Hell if it were up to me I'd bring everyone over.....players, coaching, front office personnel, their current fan base seems more loyal as well. (minus the die hards on this board of course )

Good for her, but this obsession with pilfering the Bills to fill our FO is odd. I don't remember this much turnover from 1 team to another before. Schoen needs allies to keep the Maras / Giants anti-change folks at bay. It’s a smart move to bring all his friends with him. Good sign he’s in control too.

I imagine Kafka will bring over a few people from KC as well.

True, I just don't remember it being this much from one team. It probably has a lot to do with the Shoen/Daboll combination hire. Recently when they have hired a HC or GM they have come from different places and different times.

If I am in the same position as GM, I try to take as many people as I can to create the same success with the Giants

Isn't technically the HC the director of coaching opperations? To me just in the wording of what her title suggest, if the HC decrees procedural doctrine on how his coaches interact with the players. She can step in and say no we are not doing it that way.
So what is the the HC job? With her holding the role of director of coaching. What is it?????
What role does she have that the HC does not have in directing the coaches?
This is a description I found on Google.
What does a coaching director do? The Coaching Director should support coaches so that players will receive the best practice approach to training, skill development and match day environment. Build, promote and enforce a skills development curriculum for use by the coaches. Isn't that one of the responsibilits of the HC?
This is almost Judge like with individuals in unnecessary positions. Too many cooks adding salt to the soup.
