Isn't technically the HC the director of coaching opperations. To me just in the wording of what her title suggest, if the HC decrees procedural doctrine on how bis coaches interact with the players. She can step in and say no we are not doing it that way. So what is the the HC job? With her holding the role of director of coaching. What role does she have that the HC does not have in directing the coaches? This is a description I found on Google. What does a coaching director do? The Coaching Director should support coaches so that players will receive the best practice approach to training, skill development and match day environment. Build, promote and enforce a skills development curriculum for use at all age groups by the coaches. Isn't that one of the responsibilits of the HC? This is almost Judge like with individuals in unnecessary positions. Too many cooks adding salt to the soup. what she will do and not do is up to Daboll. My guess is this position is one of research, admin work and coordination. I bet its a position that Daboll can delegate responsibility to that would otherwise weigh him down. We dont know if its an unnecessary position or anything like Judge had. From the description in the OP: Young comes from the Buffalo Bills, where she was the player services coordinator. She was previously the manager of football administration and assistant to the head coach for the Bills

At this level if a coach needs direction from an administrator on how to coach and or interact with his players. That coach has no business being in the NFL. This is Pop Warner / Highschool approach because it is necessary to train the coaches. You don't see any of this year's playoff teams using this smoke and mirror stunt to win. It is because their coaches can do their jobs without intervention form some administrative situation definer. PS: If the HC has responsibilities that are weighing him down. We hired the wrong guy.

It takes more than a head coach and three coordinators to run an NFL team.

The GM is clearly bringing in people that he has rapport with. Buffalo has a really good team and I like that we are getting people from a recently successful organization. Cant hurt. I just wish we snaked Dorsey. Seems like that would have been the most important piece to transitioning the offense they used in Buffalo to here. The Dorsey thing was a media creation. Turns out we never even put in a request to interview him.

It takes more than a head coach and three coordinators to run an NFL team. Explain to me how the director of recruiting opperations is the same as the director of coaching opp? Doug Roscield Rosfeld, 40, comes to the Bengals from Cincinnati's Moeller High School, where in his one season as football head coach (2018) at his alma mater, he led the Crusaders to a Greater Catholic League title and was named GCL Coach of the Year. Rosfeld previously was the Director of Player Development for three seasons (2015-17) at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to UC, Rosfeld worked at Moeller from 2005-14 as offensive line coach, also serving as rugby head coach from '09-14. Rosfeld played center at UC from 1997-2000, starting 34 games. He was named first-team All-Conference-USA after both his junior and senior seasons. His last name is pronounced "ROSS-feld." Like I said that position is used in HS.

Shame on her for diminishing her stature with word play. You’re so far off base it’s actually comical. Director of Coaching Operations is not the same as Director of Operations in corporate America. My kids played club sports. One played for a high level club in their sport. They had a “coaching director” which was essentially a support position for all the head coaches of the teams (which can be viewed as the equivalent as coordinators/positional coaches in the NFL). It was like an executive assistant for the director of the club. A right hand man to ensure the coaches just coach. Your are no reading comprehension dullard. If you actually. Had a 3rd grade reading ability. You would have understood this post I made. Post 41

I have seen many different approaches and none has worked for the last 10 years.

The title of "Director" is different in any company. It holds a different level of manage based on the companies structure. For example in my industry, the Director Of Maintenance in Aviation, runs the maintenance department and all of its aspects. However I cannot be "titled" as a "director" because of the what that specific title means within the constructs of the parent company in regards to management level, pay etc. So my title is Chief of Maintenance. Same responsibilities as a director of maintenance but just titled differently to satisfy the structure of the company.

I add plenty to every discussion. You’re just saying this to soothe your fragile emotions right now. You just don’t like what I’m adding here because, in typical fashion, it either dismantles your position or exposes your ignorance. And that angers you because your self-aggrandizing and inflated ego on this forum is important to you. So you lash out by calling people “dullards” etc. It plays out like this in a lot of threads. I called you a dullard . You want to come after me . Expect the same. Again with your gaslighting . I have said this before. You are not even in the close to having the ability to get under my skin. You do not have the IQ to achieve that. PS: I am still waiting for your double down on stupid moronic response in this thread. By the way it is post 1034. Turns out we never even put in a request to interview him. You are probably right. Just seemed like a logical connection. Im hopeful we did our due diligence in Kafka. Seems like a gamble. The thing on paper I do like seeing is he has been in the KC offense since 2017, when Mahomes was drafted. A big part of his development I hope. And his career progression is natural. Offensive quality control coach with Alex Smith in 2017. Quarterbacks coach in 2018 (a lot of responsibility taking Mahomes under his wings). Quarterbacks coach & passing game coordinator in 2020 to present. Now the OC for the Giants. He is still only 34 years old too which is incredible.

What the heck is a "Director of Coaching" do ? Are these new positions in organizations ? This guy, he gets it. You just asked the most obvious question that no one else did and probably 99% of this board has no clue, including myself..
