It was reported he is gathering with scouts and Chris Pettit and also Marc Konce to compare notes on draft prospects this month. What is unbelievable is this is new to the Giants this might explain how bizarre some of their draft picks have been over the last 10 year or so they never gather in February wow.
These guys are being tested and it looks like Konce didn't pass so far he is not being retained. At the end of the day his hands are tied before the draft he can't make to many moves but after the draft there might be big changes.
Hate seeing people lose their jobs but I'm happy that accountability is here hopefully to stay.

How long has Konce been with the team He has only been here for a few years he was a DG hire out of Carolina he didn't make it any better for sure. Think after the draft there will be more probably some of the old guard. |

How long has Konce been with the team "Koncz was a long-time member of the Carolina Panthers’ front office and worked there with Gettleman before being brought to New York by the GM." Sorry it didn't say exactly when.. |

Agree he is coming from a place where they drafted pretty good they did have some busts Cody Ford second round tackle who I liked a ton is one of them but they all have misses. It's a matter of having more hits then misses. When George young was here they would miss on a second rounder and make up by finding guys better in the lower rounds. |

This is sort of a sidenote, but I go through interviews and giants videos and whatnot a lot, and I re-watched dabolls first video with papa, and when asked what kinda player he wants he quickly just said 'tough, smart, dependable'. an interview from schoen a week later, asked the same thing and he snapped off, 'tough, smart, dependable' in pretty much the same cadence as daboll had.
it just kinda caught my ear, that these guys gave the same response and even said it in the same rhythm
I know thats not a big deal, but its just a little clue of these dudes being on the same page, and I like it.

Schoen, will get a better feel of which scout, has the same insight and evaluation of college player. Those , that are not on the same page, may be gone. |

There should be weekly meetings at a minimum and probably daily meetings about this topic for the 2 weeks leading up to the draft. The Giants sound like a Train Wreck Org... |

If Gettleman were assistant GM and Schoen just got hired as GM I bet Gettleman would be one of the first ones fired. Schoen has seemingly done more good for this team in 1-2 weeks than DG did in 4 years.

What about the Nephew? Change? By this move to me it seems to me by default McDonnell went from co-director of PP to to director of PP. Just under Uncle Chris. To me this is more theatrical BS scapegoating. Not that I believe Marc Konce shouldn't be held accountable. Here is the issue I see with this. Hold one "co-director" responsible and place him under scrutiny to be released to the media and fans. Let's keep the nephew and his "notes" under wraps. What message does this send to the rest of PP and the scouting staff?  IMO: To me this is just a not notch in the stick of appeasement. As long as Dadd's boys and nephew are immune to accountability. I do not expect much to change. |

I don't think many of us are looking at it, this way. Do all regions' scouts evaluate all positions? Seems there are regions/college teams known for developing certain positions. |
