Wow. They sure pivoted quickly. Glad he didn't go to Washington or Philly Rumor is Seattle finally said goodbye because Wilson wants a large contract. QBs getting 45-50 mill of a 208 mil salary cap is not going to be easy. Kind of crazy for 1 guy to get around 24% and the rest of the roster split around 76%

Seattle is going to be a bad team for a few years. Watch them get the top pick for Bamas QB next season.

So with Wilson out, and Brady retired, does Aaron Rodgers have a clear path to the SB the next couple of years?

looks like den is going to try the path of the rams.. mortgage their future to win now. And people wanted us to make this trade... Denver is a qb away for the most part. This just puts Wilson on a team worse than the one he was just traded for with us Wilson now in a Lefleur/Shanahan style offense as well.....YIKES ... AFC west is a virtual nuclear arms race..

Excellent trade for Seattle to maximize on trading an elite QB who wanted out.
They can reload now as long as they get the QB right again.

So the question is When does Seattle make a move on a qb? 1.they probably start selling off other pieces as well, maybe Locket? Is Metcalf now on the block if they don't want to give him am extension?(i could see them trading him to Dallas for low coat replacement for Cooper for a 1st this year and something?)
They have their bridge qb this year with Lock.
Did they fall full bloom in love with Willis?(could be good for us as it puts our number 5 in play)
Or are they going to just build a team with all this new draft capital and be in position for Young

If Wilson looks for $50 mill a year than I like the deal for Seattle. I think these 25% salary cap contracts are going to really hamstring some teams. If guys earning 50 mill ever complain about their teammates they will be a joke. They are making it so hard for their teams to have a lot of quality at other positions.

As of right now Seattle has definitely gotten the better end of the deal, I think that Denver gave up a bit too much.
I don't blame John Elway though, he's been looking for a QB since Peyton Manning retired and he has yet to find one through the draft. If he can win a Super Bowl ring I doubt anyone ends up caring about how much he gave up to get Russell Wilson.

So with Wilson out, and Brady retired, does Aaron Rodgers have a clear path to the SB the next couple of years? NOPE. GB will not be able to have enough defensively nor enough on their O-line when revamping is needed during this contract time frame, with their now strapped cap, to beat SF (even without Garapolo, since he is of no consequence in that match up as has been proven multiple times) nor the Rams.

This is a great deal for both teams Denver has just become a SB contender. Seattle got 2 firsts, 2 seconds, a DL, a 4th and 5th swap, plus for what it's worth Drew Lock and the TE Fant. Seattle had no 1st or 2nd rd pick. Seattle now has the 9th pick in the draft.
If I'm Seattle I ask S.F. for Jimmy G. for the 2nd rd pick (Denver) the 9th pick in the 2nd rd.
Denver will seriosly challange the AFC West. The best 4 QB's in a division in the league. Mahomes, Herbert, Carr, and now Wilson. WOW ! One tough ass division. Them and the AFC North. The AFC Whew Boy !

Seattle just got a kings ransom for Wilson. They could do well if they make their picks wisely. Lock is a serviceable QB.. On the other hand Denver gambled that Wilson is the answer. We shall see..

They need some type of competent QB to compete this year and next. And now by trading Wilson by 4pm today they have some cap room.

I like Wilson but I don't think I like him that much, thats a crazy deal...admit it or not Wilson is looking at the back end of his career, all he seems to be selling is his experience..

Carson Strong is not getting past #9 overall to the Seahawks.
The ideal Pete Carroll old-school prototypical QB with a big, accurate downfield arm.
Carson Strong most likely destinations:
#5 to Giants #6 to Panthers #9 to Seahawks
He will be drafted between Picks 5-9.

Seattle also ended up with back-to-back Second round picks (40-41). I say Move 7 for 9, 40 and 41
