No really. I have no idea what your point is here. He had a job to do.......Win. He failed miserably. He did the wrong thing at every turn. He tried to build a team of the 20th century in the 21st century. Then he tried to buy his way out of it in 2020, which put us in cap hell with a terrible team. I have no idea what "right thing" he did. doing the right thing means doing what you think is best, and then you sink or swim.. While I'm sure you are right that DG thought he was making moves that improved the team; we are well beyond the point of participation trophies in the NFL. I have no ill-will towards DG the person, but he was a really shitty GM and I hope he gets a long term contract that pays him too much to be fired with the Eagles, Cowboys or whatever the hell that Washington franchise is called this week.

As I said.....It's easy to sign players fans like. It's actually hard to build a winning team. Dave was an all time failure. It's actually harder to take a losing team and put it in worse condition. The league with it's draft rules, salary cap and free agency makes it really hard to do that. Dave managed to despite all that. So yes....I KNOW Joe Schoen is better than Dave Gettleman. Here is all you need to know about the Gucken Fettleman error. He left the team in worse shape cap wise with a qb on a rookie deal and worse O line than he inherited

Golladay was a terrible signing and there were people who said it at the time...he was coming off a 300 yard year the year when Gettleman signed him to the big bucks. But that wasn't even his main error...his team-building strategy from day 1 was incorrect and it was all signed off and likely encouraged by Fredo Mara.

No, you don't. You don't know shit. Because Joe Schoen has done absolutely jack-all so far. He hasn't even built a roster or had a single draft pick yet. No games have been played and no season to review. So you KNOW exactly nothing about how good a job he will do. You believe that Joe Scheon is better than Dave Gettleman. You don't know. Sorry if reality doesn't align with your fantasy. Uh oh....another semantics war. Hope we can enforce a no lie zone.

I think the point is, at this time we don't know if Schoen is any better than Gettleman. Its almost impossible to be worse than Gettleman. He would have to be on par with Matt Millen to surpass Gettleman.

They all do what they think is best. That's their job. I knew he didn't watch tape when he traded for Ogletree Gettleman was definitely a fraud. I don’t know what he did behind the scenes to manufacture his reputation…but it’s telling to me that he got no opportunities beyond just a regional scout until he was quite old (especially compared to the guys nowadays). I think he got credit for all those FA moves under Accorsi and we, and the Carolina Panthers can probably blame Ernie for inflating his performance. But it’s quite clear he was all talk. I think in a film room with experienced guys he would be made a fool of. A total fraud of an NFL professional.
