Did fans yell about the way he didn't slide? Funny seeing the center wear #56

Phil holding the ball like a loaf of bread.. You know how good Phil Simms was? The late great Bill Walsh was enamored with him, and was going to select him as their first pick in the 2nd round. Instead, we grabbed him. And they got some chicken leg kid named Joe Montana..
Simms didn’t need to run, he was throwing darts in those meadowlands wind.

That Simms didn't show up till after BP put him back in after benching him for Scott Brunner.

I was at a Father and Son breakfast hosted by the Church I went to growing up and Pat Hughes was a guest one time. This is going back to probably early 70s. I still have an autographed picture of him!!

The game after he gave me the signed picture he had a terrible game. I was only 7 or 8 at the time. I was so bummed and pissed. I drew on his picture and changed his name to Fat Hughes....lol Instead of his position as" linebacker" I crossed out backer and wrote in "clothesline"....lol

Great memories thanks for posting. The Giants ended up winning 20-14 on the road against same 79 Rams team that lost to the Steelers in the Superbowl. The Giants ended up with 6-10 record . One thing I remember during Ray Perkins tenure was how hard they played and knowing Parcells was Linebackers coach and Belicheck Special Teams you know these guys were challenged and coached well.
