only one season so far. He was in 10 in 2021 games which is concerning. Lets see where it goes. I really want to like this kid but something in me is he plays scared. IDK I really think they were actually being over cautious with him .. He was full participant the 1st 2 weeks even on fan day He was in a lot of one on one drills the last 2 weeks and participated in the practice with the Jets If it was a gake he probably played I think last season they were cautious about him understanding his role, in addition to injuries, his first few games. I certainly hope that part will not be a factor to start this regular season.

I don’t see Toney on this team next year. The guy is literally made of glass Guy seems worthless to me. ONE good game and people use that as his benchmark. Never mind not showing up to OTA’s his rookie year or sophomore year, never mind he can’t even get through a practice without injuring himself, never mind he also had several sub par games (including one game for negative yards)…I was sick of his bullshit last year and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt this year but I’ve just about had it. I’ll see how/what he’s doing for us on a CONSISTENT basis about half way through the season before I decide whether or not I hope he’s not on the team next year. I really wouldn’t doubt if the rumors of Schoen trying to trade him were true. Little things I've heard on podcasts make me sense that the coaching staff is growing frustrated with this kid. Jordan Ranaan - told a story about Daboll screaming at Toney to put his f'ing helmet on when the team was running and he was lagging back with the OL without a helmet. Giants Insider - Chris Biz indicated that the Giants thought that Toney was going to be able to go for the Jets preseason game and were surprised when he told them that he wasn't able to go. Dan Duggan - recounted that Toney is always the last WR to line up for drills and indicated that he would like to see Toney once in a while run up to the front to try to get as many reps as possible.

I meant letting Zeitler go, passing on highly touted Guards early in the draft, and the Hernandez miscalculation. This should have been solidified, but that's something we've beat to death quite a bit already. Worst GM in history.. As awful as Gucken Fettleman was ...only top 5 worst ...maybe top 3 (where i put him) He doesn't have an offer 16 on his record (Millen gets top honors as unlike the Browns he was actually not trying to tank

Yeah they have.. I wanted Gates as the RT but his switch to Center was looking good until they moved him to LG which potentially ended his career.. Don't blame the move,it was a freak injury that could have happened to him at C True, but I do wonder how moving around on he line positions effects your ability to train and set yourself against the opponent.

I like this new group but I could be wrong since they have left them very thin at multiple positions. I know a part of that should be put on that previous joke of a GM but I would rather have another solid Center or CB instead of Taylor.. Yeah, if Taylor is in there, it means we are definitely going QB early in the next draft - and the guy can win you games, which would only hurt 1rst round position. But the benefit that I see, is he can run he offensive system well enough to prove that and the players out, so the season is not a total loss. It's kinda double edged sword... I'm not seeing him as a good enough QB to help evaluate any player..

Oh I'm not going to argue he was historically bad, especially the way he left us in cap hell combined with drafting a QB at 6 and failed to provide him virtually anything around him .... I still feel trying your hardest and have an ofer on your record looks worse

Keep players that don’t need a drill sergeant to work hard, and get rid of the ones that do.

A lot of fans with think this stuff doesn’t really matter. I can virtually guarantee that this FO and HC think this stuff matters. Every elite athlete doesn’t talk about their talent. They talk about their work ethic relative to others. One or two of these little things don’t matter. But we’re into season two and work ethic rumours just keep trickling out. It’s not a coincidence. I think he’s done and I think Toney fans are going to lose their minds because of it. It’s just a matter of time.

Feel bad for Osi’s guy, but the guy has played 3 football games in his life. Always was a Hail Mary long shot

If Neal pans out and is an anchor for the next 10+ years it was probably worth the trade but can you imagine if they got anyone instead of Toney....like a player that actually contributes on a consistent basis? Would have gone down as one of the best Giants draft day trades.

That would really suck because the kids has the skills.

So many things a Center is responsible for, and must suck having DTs bearing down on you when you're just righting yourself after every snap. Yet it seems experienced Centers are rarely drafted, and Guards are often converted. I think I read none of our inexperienced Centers are currently calling protections, not sure who is handling that under those circumstances. It is strange the value of Centers is so low. I think it's a mistake to go into the season with out one who is experienced. I 10000000% agree.

Don't blame the move,it was a freak injury that could have happened to him at C Maybe I don't remember the play well enough but I thought it was both him and the Center getting blown up and it was the Centers player who shattered his leg.. As others have pointed out how much actual capital have they invested in a true center over the years going all the way back to O'Hara?!?!?! More specifically in the last 5 years - 2004-2010: Signed O'Hara as a FA in 2004 who was a fixture at Center through 2010.
- 2011-2013: Signed David Baas as a FA in 2011 who played well for two years got hurt in 2013 and was replaced by Jim Cordle.
- 2014-2017: Drafted Weston Richburg in the 2nd Round of 2014....who I liked but never really fit the Giants system......was serviceable for 3 years then got hurt in 2017 and was replaced by CFL perennial pro-bowler Brett Jones (who was undersized but I liked).
- 2018: Spencer Pulley signed as a FA and played a majority of the games at C.
- 2019: Jon Halapio converted from guard to Center played 15 games at C and unfortunately suffered a career ending injury.
- 2020-2021: Nick Gates converted to Center played all of 2020 at C. "Potential" career ending injury early 2021.
- 2022: Jon Feliciano and Max Garcia? Both converted interior linemen.
So they hit the jackpot with O'Hara and didn't have to address the position for 7 years. Overpaid Baas but got a Super Bowl and 2 seasons out of him. Drafted Richburg who was serviceable for 3 seasons then from there on it's been converted interior linemen. That's one draft pick and two decent FA's over 18 years....yuck.

Lions had a bunch of top 7 pick WRs that all busted and a bunch of nothing... That part I know but what Getty did was worse with his FA signings and terrible draft picks in most rounds.. The trades were also a bust.. A recap to your point 1st round 2018-Barkley; decent enough player when he actually can play. But spending a #2 overall pick on a RB in today's NFL that player really should light the world on fire and he hasn't. 2019-Daniel Jones; jury is still out, sort of, on him. But he certainly hasn't lived up to the expectations of a top 10 QB so far. 2019-D. Lawrence; good player. Not a great pick but not a bad one either and he is looking good going into this season. 2019-Deandre Baker; one can't really predict the legal trouble he got himself into, but he was a pretty terrible CB even before that. 2020-Andrew Thomas; Good pick and he keeps improving. 2021-Toney; when he plays he looks good; but that is a very rare occasion to this point. I'll call it an incomplete grade for now. 2nd Round 2018-Will Hernandez; terrible pick particularly when you consider Braden Smith was still on the board. 2020-Xavier MicKinney; So far looks like a good pick and another improving player. 2021-Azeez Ojulari; Another promising pick so far. 3rd round 2018-Lo. Carter; meh pick, disappointing but not a terrible player. 2018-BJ Hill; good pick, solid player.....For the Bengals; great trade Dave. 2018-Sam Beal; what a waste. Only thing that outstripped his lack of performance was his lack of desire to play. 2019-Ximines; He's still here....maybe Wink can make something out of him. He is terrible against the run an setting the edge and lacks the burst to get after QB. 2020-Peart; incomplete, I guess. His performance has not been great, and he's out for a bit, so maybe he becomes a useful piece; but not optimistic on that at this point. 2021-Aaron Robinson; well, he's our starting CB.....lets see how that goes. 4th round 2018-Kyle Lauletta; taking a swing at a mid to late round QB is never really a bad idea these days; but swing and miss here. 2019-Julian Love; really good pick. What he has provided so far from a 4th round pick already makes it a solid pick and he is looking to improve on that going forward. 2020-Darnay Holmes; incomplete so far, but he is looking really good at nickel right now. 2021-Elerson Smith; lets see if he ever plays, but the new staff seems to like him. 5th round 2018-RJ McIntosh; he hung around the roster for a while, did he ever play? 2019-Ryan Connelly; looked solid early on, is now elsewhere. 2019-Slayton; another that looked good early, but really hasn't done much since and drops a lot of balls. May be off the team before our first game this season. 2020-Shane Lemieux; Not a bad pick. Once he gets healthy he seems to be the starter. Not a good one, but probably good enough to be a solid back up lineman. Decent pick for the 5th round. 6th round 2019-Corey Ballentine; about what you expect from a 6th round pick; nothing. 2020-Cam Brown; decent versatile back-up; good special teams player. I'll call that a win in the 6th. 2021-Gary Brightwell; he's still here and has a role....jury is still out I'd say 2021-Rodarius Williams; incomplete but looked decent early on the outside. At least for depth. We'll see what happens if he gets healthy. 7th round 2019-George Asafo-Adeji; nothing from a 7th rounder; unsurprising but unimpressive as well 2019-Chris Slayton; see above 2020-Carter Coughlin; still here, versatile back-up. Not a terrible pick 2020-TJ Brunson; spent his career injured and is gone. Nothing from a 7th, unsurprising 2020-Chris Williamson; didn't even make it out of his first camp 2020-Tae Crowder; starts and contributes; this is a big win for where he was drafted. Overall; not good drafting. Had some good ones in there though. 2020 really stands out as his best draft I think.
