Maybe instead of so many captains, they could use a drill sergeant or two... I think Daboll and Schoen have a better strategy, at least that’s how I’ve interpreted the culture they want. Keep players that don’t need a drill sergeant to work hard, and get rid of the ones that do. Yes, they don't want drill sergeant coaches, like Judge was or had under him. But the new culture could have players that step up and demand more from their teammates, not just pose with a "C" on their jerseys, or come out in group for the coin toss.

Little things I've heard on podcasts make me sense that the coaching staff is growing frustrated with this kid. Jordan Ranaan - told a story about Daboll screaming at Toney to put his f'ing helmet on when the team was running and he was lagging back with the OL without a helmet. Giants Insider - Chris Biz indicated that the Giants thought that Toney was going to be able to go for the Jets preseason game and were surprised when he told them that he wasn't able to go. Dan Duggan - recounted that Toney is always the last WR to line up for drills and indicated that he would like to see Toney once in a while run up to the front to try to get as many reps as possible. A lot of fans with think this stuff doesn’t really matter. I can virtually guarantee that this FO and HC think this stuff matters. Every elite athlete doesn’t talk about their talent. They talk about their work ethic relative to others. One or two of these little things don’t matter. But we’re into season two and work ethic rumours just keep trickling out. It’s not a coincidence. I think he’s done and I think Toney fans are going to lose their minds because of it. It’s just a matter of time. Spot on. There are still people out there that always defend him only because of one game and that talent he allegedly has, plus the draft pick he cost us. Like I said last year, where there’s smoke there’s fire. I wasn’t even aware of all of these more recent comments about him. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and cut the cord, like the Eagles did with Reagor. I’m not saying it’s time to do that yet but we’ll have a better idea in a couple of months.

Any updates on Thibodeaux? Probably a long shot for week 1 I would think. As much as I want to see him out there, if they rush him back thats an injury thatll likely linger all season.

I really think this will eventually be an addition by subtraction scenario......how many positive stories, rumors and games have we gotten from this kid......not enough to count on one hand. If Neal pans out and is an anchor for the next 10+ years it was probably worth the trade but can you imagine if they got anyone instead of Toney....like a player that actually contributes on a consistent basis? Would have gone down as one of the best Giants draft day trades. Yeah, I can imagine…Parsons or Slater and either Neal or Thibs. That’s what we could have had and it’s really not hindsight, it’s what most people wanted. I wasn’t sure about Parsons but I really really wanted Slater. When it’s all said and done, odds are Gettleman ****ed us once again.

Wyatt Davis is interesting. Liked him in the draft. Feel bad for Osi’s guy, but the guy has played 3 football games in his life. Always was a Hail Mary long shot if he can get some where that he can spend a couple years on the practice squad he has a chance maybe Giants are grinding to get developable players and some Vets that can step in a moments notice.

We’re going up against a Titans team that still believes in ground and pound you to death. To minimize that, I would expect the Giants to put a lot of big bodies up front. Only way to neutralize a team that wants to run down your throat, is by punching them in the mouth repeatedly..

Schoen is having a hard time getting an even adequate roster together. We all knew this would be the case. He has to throw some stuff at the wall and see what sticks all while hoping Jones works out. Jones working out will be contingent on the domino effect of the rest of BS he is trying to clean up. Add in not much depth and you see where injuries will unravel this team in short order.
Will be interesting to see how this season unfolds and what they can actually accomplish. How far they can push the needle to the positive direction

he said yesterday that he would only do that as a last resort. I guess he has sifted through all the BS. When I read that yesterday and after seeing the over the cap numbers I was like how can he not restructure. Safe to assume they couldn't get a good deal for Slayton? That would have been 2.3 mill.

That would really suck because the kids has the skills. It sounds like this is where we’re at. He could be a titan in this league. I don’t think he really has the desire. There’s too much smoke coming out from under this door for there to be nothing behind it.

I think a modest restructure of a guy like Williams would work he more then likely is in there future don't find guys like him easily, Not sure maybe they can extend Lawrence to a reasonable deal get his Number down some this year not sure if thats legal tho.

Apparently there is a petition to change the team name to the New York Ravens:

The accountability will hopeful be contagious. Especilly as injuries mount they will still have captains.

Martinez does not fit Wink's defensive scheme. Awful getting back and defending the pass. You certainly deserve props on this. Good call.
