I don’t think Daboll could’ve asked for a better coaching debut.
It started off like the same old Giants and ended with a second half performance of 3 TDs and his star player playing lights out. They were resilient and clutch and even caught a break in the end.
He showed trust in his players in a huge spot and they delivered. Now they’ll run thru a wall for him because he showed faith in them.
it’s only one week but what a great start.

when the team makes some criticl mistakes along with a slow start and still wins shows a lot.
Was a good win. All teams get breaks like missed FGs in their favor

He is smart and has balls. A good sign for a team that needs create its own self-confidence due to lack of talent.

I said this during the game, doesn’t really matter if they convert on the 2 pts. It’s the right call, and they’re doing better against a AFC contender than any reasonable prediction could have forecasted.
Daboll/Schoen are still right. We’re not as bad as we look if we lose, and we’re not as good as we look if we win.
But we don’t win much, so right now I don’t care. Winning feels good.

It was a break and they NYGs won. I am very happy with the win

After years of watching the Giants playing “not to lose”, it was nice to see them go for the win.
And great to see them catch a break at the end.
I mean, how many times have we seen them take a lead very late in the game and then lose in the last seconds by a FG due to defensive penalties extending game losing drives?

I though it was the right call also because we still had all 3 timeouts, so we still had the chance for our defense to stop the titans then maybe do something. i know thats a long shot, but the game wasnt quite over either way.
loved seeing daboll rip into jones a little bit, tough love, jones hasnt had that. you CANT throw that int. its worrying to me because it typifies that jones just doesnt look over the field, he has in mind the number one target and never looks at anything else. thats my biggest concern with him.

I like Daboll getting into Jones, because I think it shows Daboll isn’t soft. But I don’t think Jones is sitting on the bench thinking “that was no big deal”. Daboll wasn’t coaching in that situation, he was reacting. I think we under appreciate how competitive these players are. You could see it on Jones face before Daboll got there. Doesn’t make it ok, but I don’t think Jones has been treated with kids gloves at all. He knows that’s one INT closer to being a back up.

That was exactly the type of game we'd always lose.
Even after the 2-pt. conversion, the defense and a very willing set officials saw the Titans drive down field to win.
Except this time they didn't.

That moment on the sidelines made me think of this:
I cannot tell you how many times I felt that type of reaction was exactly what Eli needed at times from Tom.
I think the idea that we can't win with DJ is premature and I think his chances for success have increased because of the coaching.
If DJ threw that same pick last year he would have come back to this on the sideline.

Sounds like Coach took care of business. I wasn’t able to watch the game because I got stuck working last night. Sucks. I heard I missed Barkley kicking ass. And I see there are mixed feelings on this board about the win, so I assume we played like shit. Maybe Daboll can get it fixed up.

They were a different team in the second half. Two different teams.

Daboll and the team won a hard fought game with a handful of big mistakes by all 3 phases. In the first half you would have had a stroke because they looked pretty bad all around. Second half was better but still had some mistakes. - Jones had an efficient day with a terrible pick in the end zone going for Barkley. 17/21 2TDs and 1 int. he was sacked 5 times and harrased often. Lead the team down under two minutes to play and they executed a 2 point conversion to win. - D was good overall but let up al ot of under neath stuff and couldnt get solid pressure on Tannehill even though they tried. Bad holds on the Titans last drive to out the in FG range. The held Henry to 82 yards and no TDs which is huge!! - Coaching was good IMO for the first game, with a rebuilt roster and tons of questions. - STs with a blown snap on an extra point attempt and blown coverage on a punt.

This was a tremendous Team win against one of the better teams in the NFL on their turf. Daboll and this entire new staff might be the lightening bolt the Giants team, organization, fan base, S.B. and DJ so desperately needed. Congrats team, mr Daboll and staff on giving us a victory most people didnt see coming.

IMHO they’re trying to avoid media firestorms with 90% of their comments more than communicating with fans. So whether it’s saying they have different receiver packages and that’s why their 1st rd WR pick wasn’t on the field much, or saying he was talking into his headset when he had it off for 75% of his convo with Jones, they’re trying to avoid every coach and every player getting asked for reaction to the latest scandal.

And some wanted to see a Josh Allen performance from Jones yesterday.

Peyton Manning held the record for it for a while didn’t he? 43 or some shit like that? **** this…Jones stays put right where he’s at until he forgets how to throw a TD.
