For DJ I think the big thing will be when teams commit to stopping SQB can he replace the 68 and 33 yard runs with his arm and weapons consistently. The cat is out of the bag Barkley is the multi dimensional weapon he always was and maybe better. Defenses are gonna be all over him the rest of the way should open things up some for the passing game in turn will pull some assets off of Barkley if Jones can take advantage. This is where the rubber hits the road for Jones can he carry them if and when Saquon is being ganged up on, he should be able to if protection holds up. This is where progress needs to be made big time.

Yep For some reason Tennessee was playing only 6 and 7 in the box all game ..... Maybe due to the unknown and the rep that Kafka/Daboll were pass first guys (looking at Buffalo and KC tape and all their concepts...which we did blend in a way with the clear out patterns and spread formations) And didn't respect our O line being able to run block to take advantage of this favorable match up to go run heavy
For the first time in like 10 years we were able to exploit this...
So
Jones on paper could have a lot of favorable matchups in the passing game
Let's see him take advantage if Carolina commits to trying not to let Barkley best them

Either the passing game has to get more yards, more points and keep the chains moving especially on 3rd downs.

Sounds like it might be in Jones hands some here, then again Saquon has ripped off big runs against 8 man boxes plenty of times Jones still might get help.

Even though opponent defense will commit to stopping Barkley, they're still going to have a hard time doing so since Giants lineman will initially engage them, and Barkley get by them before they know it. That's what happened in the Titans game. Confident that Jones will shine Sunday just like he did on the Giants final 73-yard touchdown drive.

Heck even Shep knows how to get open pretty fast.,

On a positive note, DJ threw a career high 64% last year with the league's 24th ranked running game in that offense.
I would like to see him start taking chances though, as opposed to just throwing safe high % passes.

No way I would take chances with him throwing the ball. His career is on the line. They need a tight leash on him and loosen it as he hopefully Improves during the year!

I rather him go down swinging, then playing it safe. Nurturing a player will not get the best out of him, let him play to his strengths and live with the results. His days here are numbered, one season isn’t going to erase two years of utter shit. So, let the ball fly and see where it lands.

I don't know how long they can keep Barkley under raps tho, with good coaching and game planning they can find the mismatches for him. still for them to be successful he is gonna have to be better than he was in game 1 and they are gonna do everything in their power to make him be the man.

When you can’t run the ball, because the other team is stacking the box and daring you to throw, you have to be able to exploit that. Just maybe Jones has a coordinator that can help him do that through in game adjustments. The other fools certainly couldn’t.

I agree with you but if the line only allows 2.5 seconds on average the chances to go deep are limited. We also did not really have burners in the game. Maybe Slaton can help that?
