Am I the only one who feels so much more comfortable. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic. Maybe it's niave. But I just feel like even with the uncertainty with the future of the qb position and knowing how important that is, I feel comfortable that the people in charge know what they're doing and we're in good hands. Obviously let's see what their results are because as of now it is totally unknown. But I feel good about the team moving forward. Is this just me?

I feel the same way, and I suspect many others do, as well. But as you say, feelings don't count -- performance does. We'll just have to see how it all goes as we move forward.

I think you can chalk this up as excitement hoping that the new regime rights the ship.

I'm certainly more comfortable with Pat Shurmur as head coach. Outside of that, I'm not sure I share your enthusiasm.

No I'm really happy and feel they have a plan like when Norwell was gone in free agency they had a back up plan, and the fact that we have a guy with a proven track record of drafting really good interior OL and DL and has the right philosophy to build from the inside out don't think you will see many drafts anymore where an OL or DL isn't taken.

That makes it twice as nice sometime I think Eli got benched because he knew the game better then Mac Adope,he had more experience and did it on the field, and I'm not even an Eli homer just saying it like it is,Shurmer has forgotten more about football then little Mac ever knew.

The regime optimism sounds good on paper and I'm glad they made changes. That said, I'm still not sure if DG was a company hire more than the right hire and Shurmur was still our 2nd choice for HC. When the results pan out on the field, Eli doesn't continue to decline, the O-Line looks solid and Barley makes us believers in his selection then I will gladly jump on board. It's only me being a realist to say that this could actually get worse and not better.

i like the new regime's emphasis on physicality ... for the past six or seven years we have watched this team get rag-dolled on a weekly basis .
win lose or draw ... i want them to make sure that the opposing team needs double-time in their ice tubs on Monday.

I don't care how they do it, I just want them to win more football games more regularly and be in the playoffs more often than not. Despite 2 SB's in the last 11 years, there has been a lot of January's minus the Giants. I hate that **** more than I probably hate anything in professional sports.

I’m more comfortable with new the HC but there are still substantial talent gaps on this team. It’s going to take a few seasons to fix this mess.

There was nothing worse than this last season being a pick by many of us to go to the superbowl and by week 4 or 5 it's over. Then watching 11 weeks knowing were out of the playoffs. What I want realistically from the team this year is to be playing meaningful games into late December. Give us a full 16 games to have something to root for.

Everything sounds good, saying the right things, even guys in the dog house last year, apple and flowers are playing well and saying the right things. lets see how this goes and how we react after losing a couple of games in a row. I hope it doesn't happen but real character is revealed in diversity and then we can see how the new regime handles that and how the players react to it.

It’s going to take a few seasons to fix this mess. +1 i don't necessarily agree with the gaps that stripes probably sees, but i think the secondary will get torched, i think we'll struggle getting pressure on the QB, and i think it will take some time for the o line to mesh together as a cohesive unit that trusts one another. Between the 11 win season and the 3 win season, i think this team is closer to the 3 win version. We need another offseason to fill some absolutely key issues.

I feel more optimistic with the new regime in place. We still have to see how things play out, but if the old regime was still in place I definitely wouldn't be optimistic about the Giants heading into the new season.
