Not sure what you’re seeing. The key to beating that team is to not let Jefferson beat them and that primarily on Jackson. Adoree played a helluva game coming back from the knee. Key was keeping Jefferson from getting deep. That was McKinney's responsibility and he did it very well. Jackson was just part of the defensive scheme but Jefferson going deep was not Jackson's responsibility. Except for tackling Jefferson, Jackson was non-factor in Jefferson from catching mid-range passes..
“We had to take him out of the game and Adoree’ did his thing — he tracked him everywhere,” safety Xavier McKinney said. “He’s a big piece to our defense and just having his presence out there helps us a lot. Go take away the best receiver —
that’s why he’s here and why he makes big money.”
“I feel like I did all right,” Jackson said. “The only thing that changed was I was getting back in the groove. I want to give credit to him. That’s a top-three [NFL] receiver.”
“I love having Adoree’ out there,” defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence said. “He gave us a little extra time to get
[to the quarterback] when he was holding the number one receiver.”

I love these game day threads. The middle 40 pages or so you wouldn't think the Giants had a chance yesterday! Great win, nice to see the defense close it out though that Slayton drop brought back Engram's drop against the Eagles.

LOL Sean Payton. The Vikings were favored by 3 points but Sean picked them to beat us by 10 points.

Watching the replay the Vikings made some key mistakes that cost them the game, late 3rd and opening 4th Quarter! Penalties and drops! But we were just the better team last night! With the game on the line, I still can't believe that 4th down throw short of the first down. He's making a lot of excuses for making that throw, but none make any sense!

What Flott can do is stay with speedy receiver more than Jackson can and get his hand on the ball and deflect it away as he did last night. Result was as incomplete pass for no gain.
What Jackson can't deflect passes to speedy receivers very often. . After receiver makes the catch for yardage, he will make the tackle.
To beat the Eagles, especially on deep passes, the Giants need the former not the later.
What do you want? I acknowledge that Flott's inexperience may cost him from making the play, but at least he'll be in the position to make the play. He's also not the tackled Jackson is. No reason both can't be on the field. We can revisit this post after Eagles game.
Should add that Holmes is a problem. Surely Flott should play over Holmes.

I think the pass your referring bounced of the receivers chest. I’m not sure Flott deflected the ball.

The coaches see him every day at practice. You pick out a few plays and decide he should be starting. Holmes tackles very well most of the time ans is a better player than Flott right now. . Once again you see one or two plays and crown the kid. He simply is not ready yet to play full time. He will play spot roles and continue to earn more reps

No doubt he had his arm in there and made a play but like I said, I think the ball hit the receivers left shoulder above his arm.

I saw the replay on large screen. Ball hit Flott's hand.
