He turned down a 6 year $139 mill ($30 mill bonus) deal from the Chiefs.
He accepted a 4 year $64 mill ($31 mill bonus) deal from Cincy.
I assume Chief fans are not thrilled he went to Cincy.
So Burrow now has Orlando Brown and his 3 WR and that defense? Wow!
Is it just me or does that Orlando Brown deal seem cheap? Wish we could extend Andrew Thomas at those numbers today.

A tackle just signed can't think of who it was for 25 mill per Thomas will get more than that because he is top 3 and probably top 2 arguably #1

It’s not often a great player leaves money and years on the table, to sign elsewhere for a lot less. He’s now heading back to his old stomping grounds, a four hour drive off where his old man used to call home. The Bengals not only got the premier tackle in free agency, they plucked away Mahomes blind side shield.

I do not get the premise of the OPs point on this thread.
The way I see it. Brown screwed himself. He did not take KC's deal. Brown's market value did not materialize as he assumed. In the meantime KC moved on. Signing Jawaan Taylor. Brown was left feeding off ths scraps table.

Mahomes is probably hoping they get to work on that they lost both Tackles I'm sure he remembers that Tampa Super bowl there's not much happening when the QB is harassed constantly and on his back.

I don't know what he was looking for but he turned down a great offer depending on the guaranteed money. If there wasn't a lot of that money guaranteed then it was a hollow offer.

He got around $44 mill in guaranteed money. That is all that really matters. Was more than was in the 6 year deal he turned down? Still a bargain for the Bengals. I think he is getting around half the deal upfront in year 1.

This is what I read earlier today. 95 million guaranteed over the first 5 years. At least that is the way interpreted it. The guaranteed money was 33% more than the entire contract Cincy gave him. LOL. www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/7/15/23220478/report-chiefs-orlando-brown-contract-offer-was-essentially-less-than-was-reportedThis further substantiates my original post in this thread. He could have had a very lucrative contract. They tagged him. And he still had a chance to get that offer, up until KC made the deal with Tayler. He let his ego overwhelm his commonsense. Now he has less money. He gave up 51 million in guaranteed money. (That is 80% of the total contract Cincy gave him) It is hilarious the money he left on the table.
