I think Hodgins can become that player and more. James was very good for the NYGs. Jones elevated James' game and vice versa.

the punt return fumbles sucked but he was on point with what he was asked to do in the passing game

Evan Engram of WRs... The opposite of clutch and then the final straw: "James’ fumbles forced the Giants into experimenting with other players returning punts down the stretch of the year, and the results were even more damaging. One such name that came under scrutiny was Adoree Jackson, whom the team sent out for punts and sprained his MCL against the Lions during one of those reps. Jackson missed significant time with the ailment, and the Giants’ secondary depth cratered at the most important run of their campaign." The fact that he was replaced is telling enough of how the coaches viewed him.

I'm going to miss the Rick James jokes...
seriously, he played well for us last year, way better than anyone expected.

I guess the former Super Bowl champions and Andy Reid are idiots too, pretty telling why they signed him, because he sucks so bad.

I think Wan'Dale Robinson is going to open some eyes this season. depends on how he comes back from my understanding he had a clean ACL meaning no Meniscus or MCL damage better and faster recovery.

Jones had a lot of big 3rd down catches for the Giants he was coming off an ACL. Didn't he go back to the Niners if so it will tell you something about him he proved his health and development here and I believe they were his original team and they took him right back.
I screwed up he did even better going to the chiefs great security blanket for Mahomes.

The fact that James did not display excellent tracking skills, rarely a hands catcher and very few times attacked the ball through contact. I would credit Jones' accurate passing more than James. Just my opinion.

IMO he contributed more than expected. Wish him well.

One was a 1st round pick, one was a 7th round pick. One cost more than the other as well. Lol “indivdual stats don’t matter”. Hmmm…last time I checked, players were paid based on their individual stats, not the teams stats. BTW, Waller had the same amount of drops last year as James (3) but on ~30 less targets. Guess he’s another scrub that we shouldn’t have signed.

Yea I thought James would be back this year. Don't think it would have cost a lot. We are so weak at WR it seems like were throwing a lot of crap against the wall and see what sticks. James would have been another piece. Don't know what KC paid him.
But maybe he had his choice and I would also have picked Mahomes and KC over DJ and the Giants.

James cost us more losses than he contributed to wins...He was basically non-existent when we needed a WR to step up and he got beat out by FAR, from a production/reliability stand point by Hodgins. Keep glamouring mediocrity, while undermining quality play (Jones) While the facts still stand that he is on his 3rd team in 5 years and hasn't been able to stick with team(S!) that are WR needy...

Post all the "good" stats you want, I got one for you. 8 fumbles in 4 years on 99 total touches. YES, that's 1 fumble every 12 touches....and guess what? His touches were the highest this year and he had a career high in fumbles...UNRELIABLE, loser ball

Who glamoured anything? I simply said “thanks for your service” and posted an image of stats that showed he was a reliable receiver then you went off about how shitty he really is and being he was our second leading receiver, and most reliable in the game, I disagree that he cost us more losses than contributed wins. He was a SEVENTH round draft pick?! What the **** do you want from the guy? We didn’t go into last season as a WR needy team, it was assumed Golladay and Toney would step up and they we got hammered with injuries. Now he’s moved on to a SB championship caliber team where obviously the HC thinks he’s worth something, I’ll trust Andy Reid’s judgement over yours. Hell, I’d trust a 90 year old patient’s judgement in the alzheimers unit over yours when it comes to football.

I wish him well, but he wouldn't have even been a lock to make the roster this year.
I mean, you're trying to upgrade a unit, you have to move on from some players. I was even surprised they brought Slayton back.

If I remember correctly, there were 3 NYG WRs who rank pretty high in catch % stat.

If I remember correctly, there were 3 NYG WRs who rank pretty high in catch % stat. I agree. It seems odd to say that about Jones but its true. Thats why I keep saying he played above the stats in regards to the only 15TDs and low downfield attempts. Whole those two areas need to improve for sure they are not "be all/end all" stats.
