I meant that half joking for the Jones "haters",.....lol But you look at the few no name WRs he developed a good report with. Why not say he elevated their games. Nothing wrong with that. I give more credit to Kafka and Dabs for elevating their game and drawing up schemes to their strengths to get them open. I don’t see how Jones throwing 6 yard slants and screens really had that much to do with elevating their game. And it’s nothing against DJ, I just don’t think he was asked to do anything extraordinary or that most NFL QB’s couldn’t do. It will be interesting this year when he has more options/reads and deep balls to work with.

With that said Jones did quite a bit more than 6 yard slants and screens. Jones was a big part of what was working overall for the offense. Was a very good result overall last season and a good start to this group.

It will be interesting, and hopefully fun, to see what DJ and the coaches can do with this years WR’s and TE’s. Looking forward to it!

Without James I don't think the team makes the playoffs last year. So many clutch first downs.
And the NFL Coach of the Year (Daboll) chose James to return punts...if James is so bad would say something about the rest of the team, imo
...I personally think he was one of the best signings the Giants have had in years. Not an amazing talent but plugged a hole at WR where it was needed.

Him and Barkley are the only ones to show up against the Eagles in the division round. While the rest of the team was still in Minnesota eating the yellow snow. He withstood the thunderstorm in Seattle where he cost us the game with his two fumbles. Instead of listening to the noise that fans wanted his head on a stick. He got back to work and had back to back games with a touchdown.
His injury history was not quite long enough for Schoen to keep him. Instead of ponying up the $167k raise he got from Kansas City, we resigned Shepard and got Campbell from the soup aisle. Two players who have seen more doctors than defensive backs. He’s now part of an organization that has a head coach that can scheme to get Chick-Fil-A open on Sundays. And a quarterback that can read a defense in his sleep.

8 fumbles in 4 years on 99 total touches. I thought stats are for losers?

Last year James was a productive receiver and an unproductive punt returner.
I’m sure Andy Reid will put him in positions to succeed and he will deliver. I’ll be shocked if he’s back there returning punts. They have Toney for that.

So then how do you measure “clutch?” with eyes. Jones ✅ James ❌ The “eye test.” Was expecting that. So you’re someone who believes a completely subjective method of defining a value set can be considered, “facts?” But stats and metrics are just “for losers.” Thank you for the clear identification.

geeze...what is the BFD here??!!
James had a career season for HIS career. He is gone and will not be a factor going forward. His numbers and will be accounted for by this roster. If not then there is a much bigger problem.
James is what he is and was never going to be a key part of this offense beyond 2022

So you’re someone who believes a completely subjective method of defining a value set can be considered, “facts?” But stats and metrics are just “for losers.” Thank you for the clear identification. Measuring clutch/IT factor with stats is like measuring love with stats... Can 4th quarter comebacks and QB numbers when losing give you an idea of clutch? Sure but the numbers can also be misleading. Just as measuring love with how long people have been together can be misleading... "Clutch" is a subjective moniker...there's really no supporting evidence as it comes down to what the word means to each individual's opinions...just like "Elite" One last time for you, stats aren't meaningless. They just don't always tell the full story...otherwise there wouldn't be draft busts or discrepancy in the "right" play...which is what makes life (football in this case) interesting...because people aren't robots that react and do the same things based off stats. Not to mention, that stats are influenced by external factors that aren't even accounted for.

Especially when balanced against his $600,000 contract AAV?

Evan Engram of WRs... The opposite of clutch and then the final straw: "James’ fumbles forced the Giants into experimenting with other players returning punts down the stretch of the year, and the results were even more damaging. One such name that came under scrutiny was Adoree Jackson, whom the team sent out for punts and sprained his MCL against the Lions during one of those reps. Jackson missed significant time with the ailment, and the Giants’ secondary depth cratered at the most important run of their campaign." The fact that he was replaced is telling enough of how the coaches viewed him. Yeah, a few fumbles clearly overrides the stats posted above and all the other catches he made. I guess the former Super Bowl champions and Andy Reid are idiots too, pretty telling why they signed him, because he sucks so bad. you were saying?

Bored, huh?

What are we complaining about letting James go. Was he anything that couldn't be replaced. Would he have made a difference to our pathetic offense ? Hodgins was just as good plus imho a better red zone target.
Lets get a #1 WR that can make Hyatt, Robinson and Slayton all guys that can be good #2 WR's when they're not the main concentration of the defense.

He gets injured right from jump.. which set him back. New team playing in street clothes on Sundays is not how you get on Andy Reid’s good side. Had a rough go at Kansas City. Look at him now though.. He’s playing in the Super Bowl while thirty other teams watch from their living rooms.

So then how do you measure “clutch?” with eyes. Jones ✅ James ❌ I'm sure this will be countered with "I saw it with my eyes"...Get us a Jones' replacement in the draft at earliest convenience if you could please, thanks coach! glad the Giants hired ya
