just watched his highlights and he looks to be a real playmaker.. Because he's an UDFA who hasn't proven anything yet. Fingers crossed though. I'm rooting for him.

there has been some talk about him on here and in the media. But as we know he is a UDFA so he has a huge hill to climb.
The one negative I heard/read was that he doesn't take to coaching.
We will all witness it in the near future

His physical attributes gives him a chance, but there are reasons he went undrafted in a relatively weak WR draft despite the superior measurables.
While the Giants are light on star power at WRs, they have a lot of talented players that offer skills. He needs to outperform several of them to make a team that will have possibly 7 spots available for his position.
Hodgins, another player with good size. He may lack speed, but he has already shown himself to be a good and savvy route runner that understands spacing. He knows how to use his size to his advantage and has shown to possess good and reliable hands. Simply put, he gets open and catches the ball when he does.
Campbell vet player that really has only suffered from injury issues. When healthy he has performed, offers good speed out there. He might be on a one year deal, but the team went out and got him for a reason.
Robinson, another with injury concerns, lacks size. But the kid runs good routes, has quickness and running ability in the open field as well as setting up his routes. Flashed in his limited playing time.
Shepard, again with the injury concerns. But when healthy he is still likely the best and most complete WR on this roster.
Slayton who worked himself into a larger role last season. Not the most reliable hands, but the kid spends much of his time open, creating opportunities.
Crowder, long term reliable vet. Offers value on specials and depth. Small, but he is not going to be a player that hurts you if forced into a larger role.
Hyatt, highish draft pick. High end speed, good hands, all the talent you are looking for.
Johnson flashed last pre-season before getting hurt. That injury may have lasting performance effects. But he is direct competition for Ford-Wheaton as a bigger bodied outside WR.
Smith was signed and appeared to be targeted by the front office. Offers special teams support and it seems there was a specific role envisioned for him based on how early signings tend to be priority signings.
Sills has experience in the system and has stuck around this team for a few years; that isn't an accident. He might not be the stiffest of competition, but like Johnson is in direct competition for the same offensive role as Ford-Wheaton. Sills has not shown himself to add value to specials.
Pimpleton was retain probably because of his return ability. Like Crowder is less of a role copetition with Ford-Wheaton and more of a value added competition with him.
Polk is another bigger bodied WR that was retained by this team from the practice squad. Another player that will be looking at a similar role as Ford-Wheaton. He is also younger than Ford-Wheaton despite experience in the NFL already.
Mickens; vet WR in a similar vein to Crowder. Likely here for special teams value added. I would not expect more than one of Mickens, Crowder and Pimpleton to make the final roster.
14 WRs on this roster, Ford-Wheaton needs to show himself to be in the top half of that group. Not an impossible task, but not so simple as the overall view of the position would lead one to believe. If he is smart, he will immediately find ways to make himself valuable on specials. Create ways to add value to the team besides a role on offence. Due to the less than reliable health from much of this group; that may ultimately be his best chance at finding a roster spot in 2023.

He was the opposite of another UDFA WR the Giants had named Victor Cruz. Thats how you make a team as an UDFA WR. He now has 2 more chances or he is gone. Have to catch footballs.

The dude should turn his attention to the USFL. Thus why he went undrafted.
It ain’t rocket science.
