Maybe we should just keep talking shit about Stanton all year long π He sucks. Lol No but seriously, he is an injury waiting to happen at this point in his career. Still crazy power, but he guesses on 90% of his swings.

Good guys win again, 8-3. 3rd straight series win.
Giancarlo gets the nod today with his granny to break it open. Volpe was 3-4 with 2 steals as well. That kid can play.
Pitching was solid as well.
Overall this is a good team. Not sure why the predictions were so bad. If they stay/get healthy they are a WS contender. The lineup is fun and has a ton of lefties now. Good speed too. Dominguez and Cole hopefully come back mid year to provide a good boost.
Health is always the worry though. They probably need to add some relief arms during the year, losing Lasagna already.
Overall though this a 90-95 win team IMO. With more potential in the playoffs then usual.

Not going to lie, miss these Yankees times. These were the teams that I remember as a youth, teenager. David Wells was awesome.

"Losing Lasagna" is my favorite quote. Congrats on the year to Yankees fans. I hope you can keep it going. I don't. I like my fellow NY fans. It's a love/hate, but still, I like NY success. I have many friends that are Yankees/Phillies fans even though I'm a Mets fan.

Of course he's too streaky and doesn't show up enough, but when he does there's no one like him for breath taking HRs, not even Judge. Timed right he can carry a team for a few weeks and help get them out of a slump.

Volpe and Soto both 3 run bombs.
Nasty Nestor gets the nod though. 8IP 0 ERs 2 hits. Dominated.
Good guys win, 7-0

More stats:
Anthony Volpe-
Game 1: 25 pitches, 4 swings, 0 whiffs Game 2: 25 pitches, 9 swings, 1 whiff Game 3: 20 pitches, 7 swings, 1 whiff Game 5: 17 pitches , 8 swings, 1 whiff Game 6: 12 pitches, 4 swings, 1 whiff Game 7: 20 pitches, 10 swings, 2 whiffs Game 8: 17 pitches, 7 swings, 1 whiff Game 9: 17 pitches, 6 swings, 0 whiffs Game 10: 18 pitches, 10 swings, 2 whiffs Game 11: 23 pitches, 10 swings, 2 whiffs
SSS, but he is seeing more pitches and missing less with his more line-drive styled swing.
I like it. Not everyone needs to hit 30+ HRs.

Are we buying into this team or is it too early? So, this team has exceeded my expectations by a whole lot. Juan Soto has changed the whole makeup of this lineup. If he keeps this up, he's gonna get a 600 million dollar deal.

Also Volpe is a different player compared to last year with the change in his approach at the plate. Plus, Aaron Judge hasn't heated up yet.

Is Judge still recovering from the oblique injury?
I mean he is pretty much un-clutch.... Is that even a word?
Soto is all we could ask for right now. Nice double header sweep.

I'm on the verge of buying in, and think that Judge is still in recovery. Nestor looks decent, Rodon looks like the pitcher we spent all that money for, and Stroman has been quite good. We can definitely hold down the fort until Cole comes back. Soto has made a huge difference for our offense both directly, and his impact on some of the young guys.

He gave the team both a legitimate left handed bat and some juice. This team just feels different. I haven't felt this way about the Yankees in several years. Once Judge gets going and when Cole gets back here, look out.

Framber Valdez injury update: Astros ace hits IL with left elbow inflammation Lots of aces going down this year with elbows. Pitching clock effect? I don't think it's the pitching clock. I feel like it's the emphasis of flamethrowing instead of pitching, if that makes sense. The Greg Maddux types are pretty much extinct.

Volpe is going to have a breakout type of season IMO. it's pretty obvious that Volpe worked his tail off this past offseason. He's had a great start to the year, can't ask for me. Cabrera is looking like the player we all hoped he could be as well, love what I'm seeing from both of them.

The Martian is now somehow an afterthought with Soto here. When he comes back he replaces Gresham IMO.
