Its weird, they either get shut down and shut out, or squeak out a run, or they just go ballistic and score 6-7-8+ runs with homers galore. Judge looks like he figured something out, this series anyway. Huge 4 game set with the Os this week. Gotta at least split it.

I feel like this is Baltimore's division to lose despite our solid start. They're loaded.

Yankees steal one tonight with small ball in bottom of 9th ... down by 1 they go single, bunt, double (scoring 1 run), single (scoring winning run)

I was impressed how they changed gears like that with game on the line, including a perfectly executed bunt.

I was actually shocked that Stanton hit a double in the 9th. I was fully expecting him to hit into a double-play. He looks totally cooked for the most part at this point.

He still gets solid velocity on it when he connects. The problem is he is slowing down completely. He runs like I walk now. There is no way they can move him from the DH spot anymore. He has what, 4 more year? Edit: So it's 3 more years, $32M, $29M, and $25M. The 2028 season is a team option at $25M they definitely won't pick up.

He does get good velocity, but he misses way too many pitches now. And yes, he simply cannot play in the field anymore, so he clogs up the DH.

I don't think I've ever seen Judge get tossed before. These umpires are something else I'm not a great lip reader, but it looked like he said - Really, you've got to be kidding me and it was a borderline pitch to begin with. That was not anywhere near worthy of being tossed. So much for integrity of the game!!

This umpire is absolutely 🗑 for both teams.

But who knows maybe Judge showing some emotion will help the team too.

I would love, love robo umps. No more arguing. It's a strike if it's a strike. These umps are too bad at their jobs to be in control of this anymore.
The tech is there. Get it done.

That was a pretty good series against the Tigers. Judge and Torres seem to be getting their swings back in line. We'll see if that holds against Houston, starting on Tuesday.

They’re 10 games over .500 and Soto is being Soto. What’s not to like.

What are your thoughts on Paul Skenes? I didn't see his start but heard the hype. Looking at the stat line it didn't look like a good first start, but its a first start and not everyone can be Strasberg.

I think that he was solid the first time around the lineup and got kind of figured out the next time. I'm sold on the kid, but we will see. I fully remember the Strasburg hype. He got so much that they actually cut out to each of his IP on ESPN2. Lol

This statistic is nuts, but not surprising: That drop from 2014-2019 is insane. My take away, shorter starts to not let the starter face a lineup 3x, more specialty relief pitchers on the rosters, higher power pitchers (velocity) over longer outings (innings pitched). Also leading to more injuries (Tommy John).
