They lie about all of these injuries. Already lied about this one in the beginning. Let's see about Judges "minor" about injury too. Elbow injury requiring 4-8 weeks of rest. Probably come back for a few starts mid season then need it. Yeah, we,'ll see where this goes. Tanaka had that elbow injury too and didn't get the surgery but his stuff clearly diminished. Same will happen to Cole more than likely. Fastball only hitting 93-95 completely takes away his game.

Tanaka had a partial tear. Cole doesn’t have a tear.

I guess we'll see, but he got almost no work in spring training, so even if he comes back in 8 weeks or so, he'll need a few more weeks just to build up to where he can pitch effectively in games. We'll see how it goes, but certainly diminished my hopes/asperations for this season.

Tanaka had a partial tear. Cole doesn’t have a tear. I believe it was Luis Severino who also didn't have a tear in his UCL, until he did after further testing weeks later. "But in 2020, multiple MRIs failed to spot damage with then-Yankees righty Luis Severino’s UCL. Then Severino was given a dye-contrast MRI that revealed a partial tear. Severino needed Tommy John surgery, and he didn’t pitch again until late 2021." These elbow injuries are no joke, and the Yankees have a long history of hiding the severity of them. That said, I found this:“In every test, there’s potential — even if it’s tiny, tiny, tiny — for something to be missed,” said Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas, a sports orthopedic surgeon at New York University Langone Health. Gonzalez-Lomas, who hasn’t reviewed Cole’s medicals but has treated many elbow injuries, said it would be important to “incorporate everything into the diagnosis,” noting that while MRIs are “very sensitive” at catching ligament tears, “no test is 100 percent sensitive.” “You really do have to put everything together and sometimes repeat tests in order to arrive at the right verdict,” the doctor said. None of the tests found a tear, but they did discover inflammation, Boone said. A source with knowledge of the Yankees’ personnel decisions told The Athletic that Cole was interested in further examination to determine exactly what’s ailing him. Cole has told the Yankees that he was having difficulty recovering between outings this spring. Gonzalez-Lomas added that there’s a long list of things that could be wrong with Cole. “Everything from tendinitis, bone bruising or issues in the joint itself, just inflammation,” the doctor said. “The joint itself can get inflamed and have no structural damage, but that can have soreness that can affect pitching quality, velocity and recovery.” We can only hope he bounces back and is back to form probably just before the allstar break at best. Taking off April, and May, coming back in June and building up his strength and pitching form again will take a few weeks at least.

That could happen to any pitcher in the future, and that doesn’t make any self proclaimed sports expert a prophet.

a really strong showing for Rodon today. He's looking ready for the regular season. We didn't see this pitcher last year.

DJ LeMahieu (bruised foot) to miss time; Aaron Judge back Wednesday. New York Yankees third baseman DJ LeMahieu will miss some time during spring training because of a "pretty significant bone bruise" in his right foot, manager Aaron Boone said Monday, while superstar slugger Aaron Judge is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday. LeMahieu hit a foul ball off the top of his foot on Saturday, and an X-ray and CT scan came back negative for a fracture, Boone said. "He's still pretty sore, but moving around a lot better," Boone said on the YES Network telecast. "I definitely think it's going to cost him some days here." www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39761356/dj-lemahieu-bruised-foot-miss-aaron-judge-back-wed

Yankees are so thin at the corner infield spots. With DJL out for a while, is it Oswald Peraza at 3rd? Hopefully Rizzo stays healthy.

Wait, the Dodgers Padres games are real games? Starting at 3am on the West Coast?
This is how MLB started their season?
Wow they just don't know how to market their game at all.
I thought it was still spring training games...

How’re the Yanks looking this year? I don’t keep up with them and their offseason like I do the Giants. We gonna be competitive? World Series bound?
For the longest time my biggest gripe with the Yanks has been their over dependence on home runs. Can’t rely on home runs in the playoffs when you’re facing the other teams #1 and #2 pitchers back to back.

Soto has looked really good though.

Yanks make a trade for a 3B, Berti from Miami. So a Burdi and a Berti.

No matter how down I am on the team, I will always love them and root for them. They needed one more pitcher like Snell or Monty, but it is what it is. Lets go!

Following along...
They can get on base but 3 double plays in 4 innings will kill you.
This team is always the same.
It's like trying to watch the Giants OL block.
The difference between these 2 teams the last 10 years is the clutch hitting. Period.
