Just started watching a couple clips on Spencer Ratliff. I’ve only seen a couple highlight reels so I don’t have much of an opinion on him yet, but one player who immediately stood out was WR Xavier Legette. The dude looks jacked. At first I thought he was just a big bodied WR who could out physical defenders at the point of attack, but I just watched him completely outrun every body on the field for an 80 yard TD. He blew by defenders who had an angle on him. I just checked his profile and he’s supposedly 6’3, 227lbs, and is estimated to run a 4.29. Not sure where he’s projected to go but he could be someone to keep an eye on. www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Xavier-Legette-WR-SouthCarolina

Big boy. I think he’s going to move up from his perceived value come the combine or private workouts.

Great call. He caught my eye in 2022. He is a beast. Reminds me a bit of Michael Irvin for some reason. Speed - Great Hands - Toughness. Route running I can’t evaluate but was open a lot and when covered made the contested catch more often than not.
I have him in my pre - mock.

If he's available when we pick in Rd2 I might sprint to the podium. I say that but I really haven't watched much of him or any WR for that matter. He just absolutely stood out in the little bit I watched, and I can't imagine there being many WR's who look better than him. He looked like a man among boys.

No thank you if that’s your work ethic buddy!

I'm excited to dive into the WR's this year. It's my favorite position to watch and like you said there seems to be a ton of talent to be had. With Robinson, Slayton, and Hyatt already on the roster, we should have a very good stable of WR's going into nest season.

I use multiple sites an average metric, with a few other equations I add in. One of them is history of that pick higher probability 19% + of the pick being made with the pick would produce a higher probability as opposed to an OG at 4%. But if a position has not been picked in a while let say at 4% that probability increases. the ones that are hardest to predict when they will go in the draft. Long snappers, Punters, Kickers and Centers. Verry low probability on every pick. I use every pick that was made in the cap era as a standard model.

Stopped watching Ratliff and started watching Legette. He looks awesome. He’s bigger than everyone, he high points the ball well, he out runs everyone…..he looks like an alpha. I have a feeling this kid is going to end up being my favorite WR. The play I was referring to above is at 1:20 for anyone interested: That's a lot of film but I can't really make of it how he high points the ball in 50/50 situations. The play before the one you mention, he actually jumps prematurely. Also a lot of the balls are thrown where he catches at chest level. Not to discredit what you're saying. I wish there was more film of contested catches. I'm sure the Giants will do due diligence in their workouts to check this but I am not yet seeing evidence of that yet. Still I wouldn't be surprised to see him a first rounder once all is settled. Guys with his size and speed don't last that long.

You can't discredit something with no credibility my man.
In the clip above, you'll see Legette high pointing the ball or making a contested catch at 0:05, 0:24, 0:40 (maybe?), 0:57, and 2:04. He looks to have good body control and can make catches away from his body.

:05 yes, the one true high point :24 he caught it with his chest. :40 (yeah maybe but unclear), :57 low catch, 2:04 yes, technically high pointed but not a jump ball. What I want is a jump ball winner like Hicks. I want to see some contested grabs. BTW, not knocking you if you were and wasn't trying to make you feel bad. I appreciate the video so I could check him out.

There’s only one season of productivity from this kid, so the film is limited, but I don’t know why he isn’t in the conversation for WR1. I’m not seeing any weaknesses to his game. You can’t focus on the route running in the clips I’ve watched, so maybe he’s a terrible route runner. I don’t know. But from what I’ve seen this kid looks like a home run. I’ve heard DK Metcalf and Deebo as comps, but he actually reminds me of TO. I think he’s a bit thicker and faster than TO, but he’s a complete WR and seems to be a mismatch for anyone guarding him.
He’s jumped ahead of Odunze and Nabers for me as my WR1. I’ll be interested to watch Harrison’s film but I can’t imagine it being much better than Legette’s.

I think mine are also. Harrison is a bit freaky good but I personally think overrated. Xavier Worthy is underrated in my opinion. However we need a big body guy on the outside first.

Didn't realize it, but Legette returned kicks earlier in his career. He averaged 26.4 yards per return, which I heard is an all-time record at USC.....haven't been able to confirm that though.
This guy is currently being talked at as the WR7-WR10 and is projected to go in the 2nd, but I see his stock rising the deeper we get into the off-season. As you said, we could use someone on the outside and Legette seems like an ideal fit.

Reminds me of DJ Metcalf-lite.
Built like a TE, plays like a WR, has size and speed to go along with sure hands. He can stretch the field or catch it in traffic.
My areas of SLIGHT concern are 1 year of productivity, and the fact that he is fast but not quick. Then again, if we need quickness, we call on WanRob.
100% up for taking him in the 2nd

Very interested to see the reports on Legette this week. The guys at Talkin Giants mentioned him on their podcast this morning and they plan to focus on his route running. If this kid can run proper routes he's going to be a handful for NFL defenses.

Hearing Legette had some struggles yesterday. It's one practice, but I've read/heard a couple reports about him looking slow in & out of breaks and not being able to create much separation. His strength seems to be running away from defenders on go routes and slants, and not so much creating separation at the stem of his routes.
If this continues to be a trend, Legette's style of play may not be a great fit for what Dabs looks for in WRs. I don't care how big and how fast you may be, if you can't get off the line and, or, consistently create separation you're typically going to struggle in the NFL. Saying that, I also read Legette is 6'1 and not 6'3 as reported. Not a huge deal, but something to note.
Two WRs I'm hearing really stood out are Roman Wilson (Michigan) and Ladd McConkey. Roman, in particular, was apparently unarguable. Both seem to fit more of the slot/smaller WR type, but if a WR can separate at all three levels I'm all for it.
OL & WR is looking real deep this year. Good news for the boys in blue.
