Norm was the Giants QB when I began to follow the team as a kid. I was one of those kids who would "announce" as I played sports, whether it was audible or not I don't remember, but when I first played street ball, I was Norm Snead when I played QB.

I also remember Norm Snead and I always liked and respected him as a Giant or an opponent with the Eagles and Redskins.
RIP Norm you were always well liked.

Really sorry to hear this. One of my first Giants memories is of them trading Tarkenton to the Vikings for Norm and 2 other players. BTW those are the uniforms I want the Giants to use as their "throwbacks".

I like that striping better than what they wear currently. Slightly darker blue jersey too, like back in those days.

Same for me Rosey. I vaguely remember Tark hitting Bob Grim and Bob Tucker but I saw every game Snead played as a Giant. If I was on offense I was Norm Snead, if on defense I was Jimmy Files. I used tape to make a "58" on a "not for contact" JC Penny helmet. Backyards in Rochester NY. Giants, Bills, and Browns fan kids played pick up football.

Skin color didn't matter back then. Only the jersey color.
Funny story, a few years later I was playing defense and decided I was Jethro Pugh but I guess I must have just heard about Jethro Tull so I declared myself as Jethro Tull, pass rusher.

This brought back memories when I was a kid as well. The unforgettable 70s teams .The likes of Norm Snead, Randy Dean, Joe Pisarcik.

Tark n Snead played on the best of those teams until Brunner/Simms. How did NYG come by QBs Dean, Pisarcik, and Goldsteyn? Drafted? Street FAs? Trades? I mean we cant be too hard on NYG management as guys like Brodie, Hadl, Kilmer, and Jurgenson were considered prime athletes in that era.

I’m white and I was always Lawrence Taylor! My buddies started counting my sacks too. And they would lump them together because we would play at lunchtime at school and then play after dinner I had like 200 something!😄
