Remember too....this year draft-eligible juniors will be there as well. If you declared as an underclassman...welcome. Keep an eye out for OT's Tyler Guyton and Taliese Fuaga...the latter will be a guard in the NFL. Yeah, he makes Neal look good against speed rushers, but run blocks well...as he will show on the drills. The full IOL list? Troy Fautanu who plays OT, but should be a pro bowl guard in the NFL. The man monster Cooper Beebe...reminds me Dickerson. Want to see him do pass pro vs some DT's with some good to great technique Jordan Morgan from out here in the desert of Arizona. Another tackle who can't handle speed. We have one of those already, but he's accepting the guard kick Kid from Duke, Graham Barton. Smart and athletic. Can also do center with guard All in all, the Giants should have a ready to step in guard with an early 2 pick...but the value of these guys is becoming a lot higher, so if the Giants want there interior guy, might want to move up to secure a starter. Some nice edge, wide receivers and QB's we should be looking closely as well....Nix vs Penix?

what do these games tell you that previous film/games don't? Can't take these games in and of themselves anyway right?
I guess the drills are cool to watch.
I do not watch college football much at all. I read some stuff and the mocks to get to know some of the players.
Maybe since these game types of games are "throw together" type situations it lets an individual's talents really shine as opposed to playing within a certain system.

At this point you're playing against better competition all around, but I think the big advantage of these in person games/combines are meeting the players in person. It also gives some of the coaches a chance to work with these kids. I believe Kafka is coaching one of the teams this week.
That's my guess at least.

Nice to see a prospective Guard vs a prospective DT rather than a game/film of a Prospective pro steamrolling an opponent with a low ceiling.

The one on one drills between blocker and guy that is trying to beat the block are very telling. My favorite moment was Aaron Donald going against any guy trying to block him and just beating everybody so easily. He finally gets to Zack Martin and there you have it….2 guys projected as first rounders going head to head. Donald made him look silly, and it was those drills that made me want this freaky talent. We took Beckham and the Rams took Donald right after us. A guard was taken 16 by the Cowboys, Zack…whom Donald make look like a 7th round flyer No first round running backs, thus keeping that percentage of success very high for 1st round ball carriers making it.

In the Shrine game I'm interested in Guard Christian Mahogany BC product he needs refinement tho maybe 3rd dude packs a Punch and enjoys wrecking DLs on doubles and combo blocks, forget it for the poor fool who gets him when he 's freed up for help. Real nasty strong Guard prospect he has to show tho he can stay on his feet hearing he has some balance issues if teams think thye are fixable this kid willl be a stud.

Would that count as a made it RB in the 1st round, or a failure?

Personally, I'm trading up if my guy is there. Question is, do we...because that's one hell of a chunk of change we're paying Jones. This team is always in such a mess, it's comical. Damn they needed to tag Jones. I still believe if we make the OL dominant, that would be the only way a Jones can survive a year and save some jobs....as I do not believe we are trading up for a QB. Build a wall...better helmet on helmet talent and we might win enough. Eagles are a mess, and the Cowboys might start reeling after being smoked at home. I'm with TEM on building the trenches even further. His Alt, guard, move Neal to LG, DT is how you win games.

For sure If the Giants want the guard, they will need to jump up vs OL needy teams…especially if we do WR at pick 6…and it would feel nice jumping the Cowboys, especially if we have some smoke on whom they want. This is the scary reality. Everybody gets to add and our roster is so far behind the others. So we add a receiver and Dallas adds a Guard. Did we close the gap? Those worthless wins vs Washington and New England, and they were worthless despite the delusions of some, really cost the Giants big picture. Sure, the Giants could miraculously come out of this on top yet the odds are stacked against them b/c they lost the flexibility to move back for a lot of maybe solve this QB issue. Roll back the clock and heck, it was Gettleman’s job to pick up that phone if Elway was calling. Bottom line, for all his bravado and bs he simply wasn’t prepared. He used a 3 ring binder, couldn’t keep up and never caught up. Hence, where we are today. Our team needs a lot of help and they need Jones to be awesome. Instead, he was awful when he played last season as were others.

Which OG in particular? I've heard the kid from Duke's name bounced around, and watched a film review on him yesterday. He plays OT now, and looks to have what it takes to stick there, but he's being projected as a better OG at the NFL level.
This seems to be a very deep OL class, which is music to my ears if true.

I agree with this I just don't think we are gonna have a chance to get up there 3 teams in the top 3 want and need QBs unless 1 decides to build their OL first.

Again if they believe in anyone of them and have an opening they need to pull an EA going to get Eli If things go the way they want they will have to pay more in the future if they have the shot now is the time.
