The 1986 draft was insane. Imo the best one Dorsey, collins, Howard and pepper. It’s up for debate on obviously but what year did you think?

The 84 draft was good too. Banks, reasons, hoss. Roberts, they got Manuel in the 7th.

2005…..75% of our picks were absolute studs and main cogs in our SB run.

2005…..75% of our picks were absolute studs and main cogs in our SB run. With only 5 picks. Minus the first and fifth rounders I believe it was. Accorsi was the most hated GM in Giants history at that point, being accused by fans and media of getting robbed by the Chargers in the Eli trade.

There is no debate.. The ‘81 draft turned our whole franchise around. We went from a laughing stock.. to a powerhouse overnight. And it was all because a guy named “Bum” Phillips wanted his Earl Campbell of the draft. It was said that George Young ran the quickest 40 in human history when the Giants were on the clock.
The player who plays second to no one..became the real life Freddy Krueger of the league. Forget the accolades.. never mind the numbers. They’re cemented in granite and are the barometer of what defenders are measured by. Lawrence Taylor who stands alone in a room full of hall of famers. Was the best draft pick by a country mile in franchise history.

1981 we drafted Lawrence Taylor, nothing else matters... That was going to be my pick. 1981, we picked Taylor and I have no clue if we just left the draft after that cause it doesn't matter.
I'll throw out 2007 as a really good draft that jumps to mind. Maybe not the best in our history but without Ross, Smith, Alford, DeOssie, Boss and Bradshaw we don't win that Super Bowl. Even 7th rounder Michael Johnson had a crucial play in the playoffs. Adam Koets, a 6th rounder was the only guy that didn't play a big part. Perfect draft at the perfect time.

As Mustacio said, '84 was also a really good one. I'd say '79 when we picked Phil Sims was also transformational...But 81 is the granddaddy of them all!!

We have a long history of hating our GMs here, even though we have won four Super Bowls.

The 84 draft was good too. Banks, reasons, hoss. Roberts, they got Manuel in the 7th. We could have netted the minister of defense in the supplemental draft of ‘84.. Parcells who wanted the former Titan of Tennessee. Got blocked by George Young as he selected the draft dodger, Gary Zimmerman. Great pick.. Only problem was he wanted no part of New York. To the point he told the Giants to go pound sand as he bolted to the old USFL. That was the beginning of the Cold War between Parcells and Young.

They hit on a ton of picks.

But like I said it’s hard to argue ur point because they Got LT but the rest of that draft was bad.
