To me Mark Collins. Just for one thing that he did for the Giant defense. He guarded Jerry Rice one on one every time we played the 49ers. Rice has said he was the toughest DB he played against.
He reduced every other receivers of Montana's potential to hurt us because Collins could cover Rice one on one. I loved Mark Collins. Never got the recognition he deserved. Either did Webster for that matter.

These two were a lot better than most Giants DBs

I don't remember Collins too much, I was young when he was drafted, but he had a really good career.
Webster I remember much more and he covered Randy Moss in the greatest Super Bowl win in history. The crazy thing is he was a converted WR.
Nod probably goes to Collins, but not by much IMO.

Dude, I like Corey Webster but Collins stopped Rice multiple times including in one of the best Giants games ever.

Not sure why there's all this Webby hate. He was a true shut down corner for most of his career. He was a great cover corner.

I saw both play and love both but if I had to pick one I will just pick Webster rather I really know the answer to your question or not lol. Maybe they are equal 😂

From The GOAT Of Receivers Himself on Mark Collins... Mark use to play Jerry so tough Yeah he was tough I might give him a slight knot over Webster but maybe he was more consistent overall and even early I didn't really see him too early though in his career. But yeah and at 30 seconds of that video look who was right there, number 29 Myron Guyton.... I remember him and Greg Jackson immediately as rookies coming in and putting their stamp on things and I'm pretty sure they started right away

Webster was a great CB in a completely different era. I was a big Collins fan but let's face it, he played in a time when DB's could get away with a lot of things you couldn't today, or in Webster's era.
They're both good.

Not sure why there's all this Webby hate. He was a true shut down corner for most of his career. He was a great cover corner. It's pretty wild considering that he was actually demoted to special teams in the 2007 season due to poor performance. Good on him for turning his career around. I think that calling him great is a stretch, but he turned in a good overall career here.

It’s like picking between your right or left hand.. When both can knock your teeth out. Collins was the reason we sent Elvis to Graceland with a luggage full of toast. With Perry Williams on one side.. we needed someone who can lock receivers down and throw away the key. In a division that had Art Monk, Mike Quick, and Mike Renfo. We had to have some dogs to cover these animals. What he lacked in size.. he made it up with his fight. Never scared to go on an island with the leagues best and more than not he came out alive.
Another player who switched to safety at the tail end of his career and still balled. As for Webster.. he went from a bust to an integral part of our defense. We all saw the tape.. we read the press clippings. The former Louisiana tiger was an inch away from being an area rug. Instead of becoming an afterthought, he fought through it all and became a solid corner. His interception of Brett Favre is cemented in stone in NFL history. As long as he’s thirsty, he will never have to buy another drink in this town for life.

Not sure why there's all this Webby hate. He was a true shut down corner for most of his career. He was a great cover corner. Theres no hate for Webster. Just a real easy answer for the question. Collins, in the opinion of many, was better. That doesn’t mean Webster didn’t have a fine career. He did. And he made the biggest play a CB could make to put the Giants in the SB. Subsequently, he gave up a huge TD to Moss with 2 min left to give up the lead in SB XLII. But that was a tough assignment.

He would take their best WR man to man and shut him down. I always thought of Mark Collins as a "face the QB" zone kind of guy.
