Winner is the 1990 NFC championship with a bonus of both bowl games over the next couple of days.
SCREW THE NINERS!!!!
All to brief a polling time, I know, but it has been decided! Thank you to those who participated and those who would've had I thought about it at a reasonable time.
If a strong case is made for another game, I'm a pushover.
In honor of the true NFL GOAT I want to watch a game from a ring bearing season later and I want you to decide. I didn't check but I am assuming there aren't enough poll slots for the full two seasons so I'll do it the hard way. Voting ends when I decide to watch something and count them. Winner will be announced in some fashion. I already have most of the games but if the winner is one I am missing then I will find it. I ask that you use the week number to keep votes consistent and brief, which will also eliminate any confusion if someone votes for a division game. www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyg/1986/gamelog/#all_gamelog1986www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyg/1990/gamelog/#all_gamelog1990

The 1990 NFC Championship game is one of the most violent and tense games I've ever seen. The carryover from the regular season game and rivalry was as good as it gets.
Ronnie Lott damn near killed one of our WRs (Bobby Johnson?) and of course Leonard Marshall's hit that put Montana into another dimension.

Watch both celebrate LT's birthday for 2 days. They both had such happy endings.

As great as the ‘90 game was, ‘86 was their first and everybody knows you always remember your first.

As great as the ‘90 game was, ‘86 was their first and everybody knows you always remember your first. 86 was great! I still think the NFC Championship that year against the Redskins(a shut out) in the old Meadowlands was the Greatest Giant game ever played! The wind and the cold and with about 7mins left a noise that was indescribable, just amazing and I was luckily enough to be at both 86 and 90 NFC Championships.

I cannot argue about that ‘90 championship game. One play that comes to mind that is often overlooked is the “4th and 13” VS the Vikings during the ‘86 season. After the way the ‘85 season ended they would not be denied in ‘86. That 90 team was as gritty a team as you will ever see. Superior coaching, individual effort, and resilience all over the place.

I remember it being 4th and 17 to Bobby Johnson. I knew then that karma was on our side and we were finally going to make it to the SB.

Yes, that’s the play! no sweat... it was the first time you got the feel... this could be the year. The next signature play was Bavaro carrying half the Niners team for 20 yards when we came from 17 down at halftime in SF to win 21-17.

As great as the ‘90 game was, ‘86 was their first and everybody knows you always remember your first. When I 1st read this, I mistook 90 for the 2000 NFC Championship! Had to edit! However, as I've said many times on this and the old Board, 1968 NFC Championship game was the greatest sporting event I have ever been to! (Chambliss walk off HR in 1976 at Yankee Stadium, a close second!) That evening/night game vs WASH was pure magic! My brother and I were the very 1st car in the lot in the early AM. They had to toss us out to get behind the pay gate when they showed up. I need to find my photo of my car sitting alone in the lot! The wind, confetti and hugs will forever be with me!

I was at that Chambliss HR game too. Wow. In the left field bleachers. Wasn’t at the ‘86 Championship Game. The only Championship Game I was at was vs the Vikings. That was a party.

I'd watch the 49-3 demolition of San Francisco in the 86 playoffs for that season. I've seen some of it before but have yet to see the entire thing. Good watch.

The 49ers comeback game that December will always remain the game that made me a fan for life. 14 years old, didn't watch every game from start to finish yet, and definitely wasn't used to staying up on a Monday (school) night to watch a whole game. Add to this the misery I felt at halftime. But for some reason I stayed up to watch the rest, and the team (and Bavaro) rewarded me for it in a classic way. You couldn't possibly miss another game after seeing that performance.
