Jumping off of a sinking ship seems logical, does it not? We can pretend as a fanbase that we have no issues, but the league knows I think professional survival comes to mind I said it a week ago Daboll going into year 3 on warm seat might have issues finding Coaches. In Bischofs case he is going back to work for his old boss in Greg Roman along with his old head coaches brother to boot he gets a reset. No coach wants to be in a place where their first year could be their last year with a team only to have to start all over else where, especially as a I said a couple weeks ago for the first time coordinators that they were interested in. Giants got themselves here with strife inside the coaching staff I'm not gonna pretend to know who's fault, it is because no unit was better than 23rd and that was special teams that was the best. Wink got what he wanted Daboll is damaged and maybe Daboll out of spite damaged Wink too, only in Giants land.

Guys want good situations Giants a re rocky one right now they can recover if they make the right hires. DC is front and center right now this for me it is Henderson or the LB Coach of teh chiefs he has been involved with 5 superbowl championship defenses, they are who I have wanted form the start hope one to them ends up with the job. Just saw Wink was hired February 11 so the Giants can wait for teh chiefs if thats there target.

Being that the Giants put up a barricade for Kafka.. And let Andy not only walk.. but gave him directions to Newark airport. Tells you they wanted nothing to do with him. He’s got a ton of man hours working with Greg Roman. And put work in for the only sane Harbaugh brother. With the beach as his backyard.. and working under a coach who just inked a five year deal. It was a no brainer to bolt before the storm hits land.

Even a move to coordinator isn't unblockable. Only to head coach. That being said, the Giants aren't a monster organization, so someone getting an upgrade like being a run game coordinator, they aren't going to block him. That's all this comes down to.

A couple of questions that I truly have no answer for about rules and jobs in the NFL:
1) If a position coach quit his current position and then went to a lateral position on another team, would he be penalized in any way or is considered just a shitty move; 2) NFL players are under contract, are they considered 1099 type employees where their accountants have to take out taxes, etc. similar to professional wrestlers or are they taxed prior to being paid like most of the workforce?

Apparently the Giants gave LA permission to interview this guy, and he can ONLY go to the new team if it is a lateral move if the Giants give their blessing to the move. Had the Giants refused to give permission for the interview, he would no choice but to stay or quit…..even if he quits the Giants could keep him from joining a new team unless the team and coach agree that all financial connections (guarantees, bonuses, etc.) are done and nothing exists between the coach and team……this is what Wink Martindale did to get his freedom…he left some guaranteed money on the table……that tells how badly he wanted out.

Giants are usually pretty decent when it comes to these things. Thats how you know the Wink thing was over the top they didn't want to pay him they had to be pissed from ownership down.

You are correct and Im glad some know this. According to the NFL, there are only 2 types of coaches. 1) Headcoach and 2) Assistant Coaches (coordinators and position coaches) The upgrade you speak of, according to the NFL, is just in terms of compensation and a cool title IMHO, this isnt even close to losing a TE coach like Mike Pope. Fans will have fun with the narrative but have little substance.

I have no issue with former Titans coaches coming here. They clearly have been a better team than us the last few years.

Closest thing to a Chargers thread, looks like Harbaugh hired Greg Roman to be his OC.
Roman was famously his OC in SF. But his recent run with the Ravens saw him running a pretty archaic ass offense, so I think this is really interesting.
Don't think Roman is very good for Herbert, kind of held Lamar back as a passer.
