Mara then spit out his toast and yelled "I said seedless bread!! Now they're stuck in my dentures!!" before firing his personal chef.

Also went on to say that he would support Schoen and Daboll if they wanted to draft a QB in the first round. Ok this is the most egregious smokescreening yet. Way too obvious Mara. Nothing to see here.

Tipping your hand coming into the draft is something only a fool would do. Put this in the disinformation bucket. This was on the Carlin show earlier...unfortunately, I believe it is true. They were also talking about how the Giants had gotten away from what they were as an organization. So we are shocking everyone and going pass rusher. I love it.

Phew.
Without this post I would have continued believing that Mara was forcing Jones down Daboll's and Schoen's throat the same way he forced Eli on everyone else.

"If they fall in love with a quarterback and believe that it's worth pick No. 6 or moving up, I certainly would support that" Do owners of other NFL need to give support for the GM to draft a QB? Isn't that up the GM and HC?
No. They do exactly what the owner wants and when that fails, the owner replaces them another pair of 'yes' men.
Rinse and repeat.

“When I first sat down with Daniel, it was eerie,” Mara said. “It was like talking to a 22-year-old Eli, which is a good thing.”
-John Mara on his meeting with Dan Jones predraft 2019
I wonder if he feels the same way about JJ or Maye? He can say all he wants, but it seems ultimately Mara gives the final decision on QB. In fact he said as much 5 years ago...
"In his first comments on Jones since the Giants drafted him in late April to be Eli Manning’s successor, Mara said his role in the decision was to give “final approval.”"

Count your money and let the football people do what you're paying them to do.

I like the "Vote Of Confidence" for Daboll and Schoen, they need time to turn things around not like they took over a Dynasty from Gettleman, he left them in Cap Hell that Schoen just got us out of in just 2 years not going into year 3
not sure what they should do at QB, that is why Schoen gets paid well to make those tough decisions

Everybody not named Dan Marino or Caleb Williams sucks, too much of a risk. We don't know if the one we draft will turn into a hall of famer (with the exception of DAVIS WEBB)so we have to get a playmaker. A PLAYMAKER you understand. Positional value and BPA and ..... Ok a WR is good, but an unknown HB from Alcorn State is better. Better than that (and Ezra) is a kickoff return specialist/long snapper..So who needs a QB? its outdated and discriminatory. We can go wildcat all the time, or triple option, double fake flea flickers and run, run , run plays (uhh no SQB..uh no worries..) And we need our non-intervening owner to give his blessing on the entire process...Its IMPORTANT!

The trades to move up to #4 could, and probably will get ridiculous.
What could be really interesting is if JJ goes in the top 3. Are GMs looking at the non Caleb QBs as the same commodity, or are their boards saying we’ll move up for these two but not that one.
Every draft is interesting. This one’s on another level.

There will be a mad scramble for McCarthy and Daniels. Whichever one Washington doesn’t take. Remains to be seen if the Giants will be involved.

I think he means the "computer folks" told him this is the most talented QB class in years, I mean that is who DG relied on...seems like a good strategy.

[b I think it's written in stone both Bears and Commanders are going QB. Patriots are open for business, and so are Cardinals and and Chargers. Sure both these later teams need WR help, but if there's a run at QBs they can drop say to 11 or 12 and possibly still land one of the top 3 WR. If I'm Giants I absolutely give Patriots a call.

That's one team I can confidently say as a worse roster then ours They traded their starting QB so they have to go QB imo. What are they going to do? Trade back and force themselves into a Bo Nix? Hope they do yet I just don’t see how they move out of that spot.

Take into account. This is the same FO that felt Jones was talented enough to give 40 million a year to. When it comes to QBs. I have very little faith in their vetting process. O-line is a close 2nd.

What do you take away from this comment?
“We have really good communication. In every move that we make, we kind of tell him what we’re thinking and the why, and he’s a good sounding board. He’s got a lot of experience. He has let Dabes and I do our job, and we keep him in the loop, and the communication is great. So, he understands what we’re trying to do.”
A) - What else would he say?
B) - Mara forced him to say it?
C) - He's lying!

So he allows Schoen latitude and he still is to blame?

Just to clarify, I wasn't busting ratbastich. I just find it pathetic how the press has run with Mara's comment. It's as if no one has watched Daniel Jones' career and John Mara hired guys to run his team but doesn't have the trust in them to handle the QB situation.
