One less thing to worry about when we play them he is a Jet now for a conditional 3rd round pick.

25 sacks in the last two years, over 50 in the last four years. Good riddance.
His salary was basically what they are paying Barkley.

So basically they swapped Huff for Reddick, who I think is a bit better.

One less thing to worry about when we play them he is a Jet now for a conditional 3rd round pick. Conditional nothing.. It’s going to fetch them a second round pick. For the Eagles to go from a third to a second, Reddick has to have 67.5% playing time and at least 10 sacks. Since he has missed only one game in seven years. And hit double digit sacks four straight seasons. You can set your watch to him trampling over those numbers. And Huff is no sandbag.. He can ball.

But for the Eagles who have to improve their defense they had 2 good pass rushers anywhere from 10-15 sacks each. It surprises me I don't understand the advantage of the trade for the Eagles. A 3rd rd pick that possibly could be a 2nd rd pick in 2026 ?

Forgot they signed Huff traded in an older model for a one with much less mileage.

In other words Huff will take up snaps that were Reddicks he is his replacement it was not an actual trade more just word play.

Not a lot of us Iggles fans are happy with this.
We were hoping to sign Huff from the Jets (check), re-do Josh Sweats contract (check), and extend Reddick. But with Reddick making 15M, and asking for 25M, the Eagles were not going to pay him that amount.
So that's a hole to fill, the depth on the Edge Rusher.

I could see them going Edge with pick one, developing the kid, getting more contributions from him a sophomore and being ok. the big thing, and it is a BIG thing, is can Jordan Davis stay in shape? He did the same thing at Georgia. He was in shape for the Championship yet too often he was sucking wind in two downs. You cannot have that. He has to be on the field. When you have a player who can make a huge impact sucking wind so often, it becomes a distraction.

If they get the second round pick plus they dropped some salary Roseman is not gonna give premium position type talent away to smart for that Reddick isn't young anymore think this is year 7 for him.

That is why drafting premium positions is imperative to roster success they will draft one the going rate for good edge players is 25 to 30 per and it's gonna go up in 2 years it will be 35to 40. Just the nature of the beast.

Reddick will be 30 in September. So, yeah they went hunger with the Huff signing. And with the Reddick trade they are actually only saving about 1M on the cap. And the 2nd/3rd round pick they are getting isn't for two or three more years.

What can help with that though is more/better D Line depth. ALL of the young Georgia Bulldogs on the Eagles Defense (there are 4) need to play better this upcoming season.

Respectfully, that’s not fair imo and it’s giving Davis an excuse b/c the Giants have Lawrence with no depth and he continues to make an impact. There wasn’t really any depth behind Vince Wilfork for the Pats either. This Davis is sucking wind before halftime while the Eagles offense, as explosive as they are, do hold posession for a while so Jordan should be fresh imo. The other bulldogs are babies and the freshman year is long. I think they’re going to be good for a long time.

Thibs & Burns > Sweat & Huff
Just have to have the system to make it happen.
They also lost Cox and we have Dex.
Our biggest problem in beating Philly isnt defense vs defense. It's offense vs offense.

Yes the Eagles are also in a win now mode, so doesn't getting rid of Riddick with double digit sacks the last 4 years weaken their defense ? For a pick in 2026 ? I assume their top picks in the draft are going to be defense for that is the unit they need to strengthen, especially their secondary. So for the sake of me why get rid of one of their better defensive players ? Screw Them, Whatever their thinking I hope it fails.
