You guys should see Mark Sanchez's highlights. You'd think he was being fitted for a gold jacket. Even JaMarcus Russell has a highlight reel.

You guys should see Mark Sanchez's highlights. You'd think he was being fitted for a gold jacket. The low lights might be a better way to judge a player because you will see a lot of what they don't do or can't do when the play is available. did you get the but fumble in there lol.
It's not like every QB doesn't have a low-light reel Dog. And these reels get created all the time to paint whatever picture the story teller is selling.
Here's one for Josh Allen. For those who may not have heard, John Mara liked this kid coming out according to Art Stapleton.

Wow, Jones did so much with so little. That's what great players tend to do elevate their teammates
...in this case practice squad players like Richie James and Isiah Hodgins.

You guys should see Mark Sanchez's highlights. You'd think he was being fitted for a gold jacket. I understand your point......I think I pointed out the limitation of highlight reels, but Sanchez had one type of throw that was top notch, the short drop to a quick slant. Otherwise nothing imo....deep out or deep anything were just not there and passing on the run into tight spaces also not there.

The thing about the whole thing and for yall saying move up to draft a qb here's my take I just thought of. For what they payed Jones ( and even though they have an out), they want him to be the guy and they want to see if he still can be especially after paying him. We saw 2022 and we saw 2023. A lot of factors came into play with his overall performance ( not excusing himself at all, but.....) and so I know our entire regime knows and still want to see what the guy can do without a shit show O line and the beating. We all want to see so there WILL BE NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!
Can we fix the O line and make significant progress toward rebuilding it THIS SEASON for what we have done thus far in FA and what we may do in the draft? We are in position to also give him for the first time a true no. 1 WR so if those 2 things come together then he really will have no more excuses at all. I'm very very curious to see those 2 things come together so we can decide rather our out for 2024 will need to be had..........
So with the regime wanting to see those things transpire I believe Schoen and Dabs have a green light to not have to move up to get a qb and if one's of their focus and their at 6 or either there in the 2nd or a move back up into the late 1st to get him or up in the 2nd to do so, then we do that. If not I think they know if they take the WR at 6 and continue to bolster the line, then 2025 will be looking much much better for Lock for another year or 2 till we draft that qb or let the guy we potentially take at 6 or up back up later in the 1st or early 2nd to get.

Given the position the Giants are in at QB, it strikes me as weak to simply troll as a means to align against Daniel Jones.
If someones got a good point against him, they should make it. And they should be able to handle the argument that a QB needs protection and playmakers because it doesn't get any more obvious than that when it comes to offense.

Does any of the old timers like me feel that maybe it's like Phil Simms all over again 40 years later with similarities? Injuries,no line, zero receivers, needing more time to develop.... With one caveat: today, there is a salary cap and free agency. Teams don’t have the luxury of holding on to players for six or seven years waiting to see if they develop. The window is more like 3-4 years.

I don't know fellas, it looks like this boy can play. Schoen/Daboll have showed support. In a week we'll know how they really feel about him. I'm ok with Jones starting in 2024. I have more concerns about his durability than his ability to play the position.

That is all correct Jones has had bottom half play makers for his whole career here bottom 3rd OL and has taken it all, if people think some one else comes here and develops during this miserable 5 years stretch I can say with 98% certainty they are more than likely wrong. Jones was not gifted with a playoff team or a decent OL or a good defense or even top half play makers and none of that changed over 5 years. He has some blame yes but most of it is on the Giants other QBs should be glad Reese was not a wheeler and dealer they could have been living this QB nightmare. That said the damage is done Daniel will have at least part of this year to fight to finish his contract maybe if they draft Nabors or Odunze and learn to block he can do something, make no mistake I want the QB but think we are getting shut out of the top 4 and don't have much interest in 5 through 7 unless it's rd3 or later.

Paxton Lynch had a cannon. How did it not work out for him in Denver? coaching and situation matter along with talent Lynch was a clunky athlete to ma anyway. Think everyone wants a QB Jones has been beaten up physically and mentally what he had or has might never be good enough, but us as Giants fans would know because the conditions here have been bad from coaching to offensive talent. Giants better not draft a pocket passer type he will suffer a worse fait than DJ even with an improved OL 2022 he was running for his life it was just a slower pressure and mostly 1 guy winning.

We have not had the strongest group of play makers here over the last 5 or 6 years.

Highlight reels with no relevance other than to say that pretty much anyone can have one - even guys whose failures have been well documented.
As these guys are the best of the best that only makes sense. But that doesn't change the fact that the Giants were 9-6-1 in 2022. And to those who follow up with the "weak schedule" argument, well we were what our record says we were.

They're just highlight reels. My point is that you can make a highlight reel for anybody. Nothing more or less. They are relevant to my point. I could post more highlight reels. I could go dig one up for Akili Smith, but feel like I've made my point.

IMO, I feel like teams give QBs the 💰 to perform even in adverse conditions. If a team doesn't believe that the QB can rise above these conditions, why even pay him that kind of jack? I just don't want to hear about the lack of support when a player gets a big money contract. Once the QB gets that big payday, the excuses are immaterial. In our case, it is going on 6 years. If the answer hasn't been determined by now about whether he is the guy, that question is already answered. Posting a highlight reel doesn't change the argument either way.

There are at least five QBs in this draft that are better options than DJ day-1. Draft one of them.
Here are Zach Wilson’s highlights from 2021-2022 if anyone wants to watch some more good plays from a mediocre QB:
