Taking over the 5th best passing O and throwing to Justin Jefferson is not the same as taking over the 31st best passing O and throwing to Darius Slayton.
Daboll needs to score and win, no one gives a shit what JJ does.
You didn’t get much support on that comment - no surprise. There’s a shit load of people looking forward to seeing how JJ does and they do give a crap. You’re first sentence is comical. JJ will be throwing the ball all over the field to different targets. You’re already making excuses for his success 😜 It apparently bothers you that people are interested to see how JJ pans out and if the Giants screwed up. Toughen up buttercup because your arguments are bush league. First, I don't comment for the likes.
Second, I've been down this road before. 2018 "OMG when Darnold and Rosen are lighting it up we will look like fools"....Darnold and Rosen fail multiple times and not a peep. If JJ does good people will be upset, if JJ does bad nothing will be said. Either way if we do good I won't give a damn how JJ does. If we do bad then JJ doing bad won't make me feel better.

I don’t think we take Mara’s opinion into consideration when we decide if JS is cooked over QB decisions. Most likely, JS’ treatment of the QB position is either in line with ownership’s opinion or out of step with ownership’s position. I clearly have no inside info, but from what we’ve seen in the media recently and historically JS’ isn’t keeping DJ around with Mara wondering what he’s doing. JS needs to get this team to perform by the end of his contract. What JJ does would matter if Mara was pushing for JJ and Schoen advised against it. Frankly, if Nabers is a miss, that’s a much bigger problem. I agree with everything you said. Missing on Nabers will be a big problem. I think Daboll is in bigger trouble than Schoen but I think Schoen truly believes in him and doesn't want him getting fired. People seem to forget the shit storm or media attention surrounding Daboll at the end of the season. I don't have inside info but I know for sure that doesn't sit well with our owners.
Bottom line is we need to perform, regardless of how JJ does.

Joe’s a big culture guy. If we win 7 games but keep Kafka and there’s a general sense that he’s addressed his antics, he’ll make it into 25. If we win 8 games but we hear the same rumblings that Dabs is the same Dabs, I think he’s done. Joe is a student of modern management theory. If Dana can’t create a work environment where coaches can get better and excel, he’s in bigger trouble than almost any other outcome. And honestly I hope for his sake he’s not just “trying harder” but actually found some outside coaching for himself. TC made a huge shift in our SB year. Dabs needs to do the same.

Just the opinion of an ignorant fan. I think Mara liked the DJ deal. I think Mara supported us keeping the picks asked for by New England. And I think Mara is looking for any excuse to have continuity in the GM chair. Unless something really weird happens (which is always possible), you’ll have to wait until 26’ to have a chance of this fantasy coming true. And if the o line is average by January 26’, or above average, I think JS will get a big chunky extension. Ah, sweet continuity. That was the excuse given for keeping a bunch of pathetic OL draft choices together for way too long under JR and DG......and I bought it, hook, line and sinker. Continuity may be helpful, but it is way way, way overrated.

Continuity may be helpful, but it is way way, way overrated. I’m not all or nothing on continuity. But there’s merit to building a team in loner than 3-4 year chunks. It’s not universally good, but we don’t measure the probability of improvement in existing management vs the upside of change. We just accept that the calc is impossible, therefor change always has upside and existing management is static and won’t improve, so change is worth the risk. Those assumptions aren’t challenged enough.
