Im hyped to see it all, because NOW we truly have a restart here. Mcadoo was really an extension of the Coughin era in many respects, which Ill forever celebrate, but had run its course. Now we have all new coaches and attitude. I think we're gonna see good play from guys that are under the radar, too. Barkley and Engram, and the guys we kinda expect will be no surprise, but I like that Shurmur gives an opportunity for anyone to shine with the way he schemes the team. I also really hope to see a killer instinct kind of attitude. I HATE that giants teams for many years now take their foot off the accelerator. Like if we have a 7 point lead early in the 4th quarter, the offense would shut down and run the football up the middle 3 times as if to "protect" that lead (which is a recipe for losing), ugh i hate that. i hope to see a team that aggressively goes for the endzone up to the final second.

What about the scenario of Darnold bringing the Jets to the Super Bowl in year 2023, when 42 year old Eli is retired, and the Giants don't have a franchise quarterback and aren't in the playoffs? This is why I'm hoping to see "Sam-chez" than "Sam-math". Would you be upset if Mason Rudolph does the same for the Steelers instead? Or Josh Rosen for Arizona in 2023? No, because Darnold was the guy I wanted.

I live in Central NJ and have to watch Jets games every week. For this reason, I am hoping that Darnold turns them into a decent team. I'd much prefer to watch competitive football games, outside of the Giants blowing people out. It's not like the pain experienced this season, with one of our division rivals winning it all. I almost just puked typing this out!!!!!!

Why does any one really care if Darnold has success with the Jets? Why the hate??

Why does any one really care if Darnold has success with the Jets? Why the hate?? I have no idea. I think it's the Maddenization of football. It started with a fantasy football and the video game. It then just grew as stat services became media safety nets such that non-relevant stats could be used as a veneer to pad (read: support for the uninformed) articles. Because y'know real football is played on a computer screen.

Why does any one really care if Darnold has success with the Jets? Why the hate?? As illogical as it sounds, some fans/experts want to see every player suck that was picked after "their guy" so they can say they got it right and everyone else got it wrong.

I’m the opposite - I don’t want Darnold to be a star for the Jets because I want me to be wrong and my team to be right.

The hopeful improvement of the O-line as well as the new defensive scheme that sounds even more aggressive that Spagnuolo's. I'm also excited to watch Barkely play as well and how that'll open up the entire offense, Oh and I'm also extremely excited to see the new offensive scheme as well.

Well, I want him to suck because I like to laugh at the Jets, but the idea if he is great with the Jets then the Giants made a mistake is poor/lazy logic. Darnold as a Jet is a completely different player from Darnold as a Giant.

Easily has to be the weapons on offense. Barkley, ODB, Engram, SS, Latimer, Ellison. Weapons across the board. I hope PS comes out with a killer instinct and has the offense trying to put teams away early. I want to see them score some TD in the pre-season and then absolutely demolish the Jaguars week 1. No more lethargic gameplay to start the season. Just watching how the offense came out of the gate the last 2 seasons was depressing. This year HAS to change. I agree, we need to come out early in every game with a killer instinct and when we get a lead never let up and keep our foot on their throat, we used to do that but not for a long time
