Well, it's really up to him. He can either step up or say goodbye. I'm sure the fact that not a single team in the NFL would take him, even for a 7th round pick, has got to put a chip on his shoulder.
Let's hope.

Hopefully, Flowers is starting to turn a corner. But I won't get my hopes up until I see how he plays and acts during the season.

The fresh start has to be good for everyone on this team. And it’s positive to hear the Oline is bonding this year.

It sounds like Hernandez has got the makings of a leader. Love everything I've heard so far.

That's good to hear. In reality...Flowers is light years better than Hart. If he can be decent...the Giants upgraded 2 oline spots with one move...the addition of Solder.

At this point, it's time to put up or shut up. Contract year and the Giants have declined to pick up his 5th year option. This year could be his last shot. For the sake of his career, I hope he can turn it around.

Why Solder was bought in and Hernandez drafted both contributing to "how" the OL will work together as a unit aka Giants "team" culture.
I still need to be "resold" on Flowers until proven otherwise, he is a disappointment... who needs to earn the position and "contribute" now. Development time is over... plus he needs to be a model citizen in camp and preseason. This all needs to happen (at a minimum) for me to change my opinion that he is a wasted first round pick and we need to move on.

The thing about Flowers is he either plays good this year or else his NFL football career maybe over. Giants didn't pick up his 5th yr option. So he's basically auditioning for a team for next yr. I can't see the Giants extending him next yr at all....

IMO Flowers has a lot to prove and until he proves it I still see a bumbling penalty making tackle causing his team penalties. I hope he has turned the corner but he still is in a prove it stage to me...

Even if he becomes a serviceable player it's still a wasted pick, he was taken #9 overall in the draft nothing short of becoming a Pro Bowl lineman would change him being a wasted pick. And I've got a better shot at marrying a supermodel than Flowers has being a Pro Bowler.

Guy better have a Pro Bowl type yr to erase even 25% of the stench that he has brought to the position. Did Reese really think he was the 9th best college player in the draft that yr? Wow!

The same thing happened in the 2016 draft when Conklin and Floyd were picked right before them and he panicked and picked Apple.

Neither of those players was top 20, let alone top 10. Players picked that high are usually in the running for ROTY or even the pro bowl. Neither has come remotely close to showing that type of talent imo.

I did have a little hope for him after his first year but Flowers has been average to bad his entire career.

If he is a serviceable RT, which I’m certainly not counting on, it would be a big win for the Giants. If this oline can jell, produce a run game and gain Eli’s trust, this could be a very good offense.

The fresh start has to be good for everyone on this team. And it’s positive to hear the Oline is bonding this year. Agreed. It will be great news to hear that they are actually hanging together and pounding steak houses as a unit--as past lines have.

Hoping for the best but it is really "show me" time for him.

if Flowers has turned the corner in his career and becomes a good RT then we may very well have one of the better O lines in the league...

I still hold an amount of optimism . I am not sure about one of the best . I will be happy with a line that will allow the team to move the ball.
