This literally had to be one of the worst football games I've watched in some time. Just dreadful.

Watched it a bit Herbert was so erratic, his athleticism is top shelf but after this game its should cement his decision to go back for his senior year to be a wise one.

Herbert is one and I'm afraid Haskins is another. Greer and Jones are reaches in the first round though I think both will be decent NFL qbs in the future.

I taped this game yesterday and just watched it today.
Herbert had so many dropped passes by his receivers, it was pathetic. A beautiful long ball dropped in the end zone in the 2nd quarter. One long pass that was dead on accurate was missed completely by the receiver's hands and it bounced off his the helmet! It was like Herbert had high schoolers playing receiver for him.
Not to mention Michigan State had a top notch defense that pretty much shut the running game down, which forced Oregon to throw the ball even more. Herbert's arm strength, athletism, accuracy were off the charts. I'm almost hoping the Giants suck for one more year, so they can get this guy in 2020!

He also missed some passed badly and made some piss poor reads as well. This extra year will help him Though if I have my choice I'm taking Fromm or Tua over him,but he wouldn't be a bad consolation prize if he fixes his warts

The above = reach and project. I seem to recall Gettlemen saying that he does not want to draft that...
Funny ppl falling in love with a qb based on 1 game or funnier falling in love with edited (manipulated) videos and 'expert' analysis.. I distinctly recall some ESPN college nimrod blathering about how great Josh Allen of Wyoming will be, talking about how was a top 10 qb pick etc etc....

Too sloppy for a Shurmer type qb He values accuracy, quick and decisive reading of an defense and throughout the field, athleticism.Lauletta has more traits than Herbert (other than arm strength and experience against top level defenses in college) Herbert needs a lot of work to be the kind of guy we would consider. Hell,I didnt mention this as the person I responded to has a history of being beligerant twards me,but Milton if his knee recovers would be a perfect qb that fits all the things Shurmer looks for... Blake Bortles is the perfect comparison, all the athletic ability you can want but many flaws. They can be corrected, hell,he should go to the Manning camp this offseason

There were a few 3rd down passes to receivers who were short of the 1st down, but other than that, I was very impressed. I can see why Brady Quinn who was the commentator for the game loves the kid.

For the record, yesterday's game wasn't the first time I witnessed Herbert. In fact, I commented a few months back that I saw him in a game on FOX 5 and stated he didn't have the greatest game. So you're calling Josh Allen a bust already?

IMO he is not a Franchise QB - that is what you going for when you draft one in the first round

Now Herbert has the chance to improve his warts and look like a legit franchise qb,he has a lot of potential competition for being a top rated qb next year so that in itself should motivate him to improve his play.

We'll see how well Josh Allen turns out. He improved in the 2nd half of his rookie season.

Career 56% completion rate 16 tds 6 int last year at Wyoming - 2nd round - late.
Unfortunate our team decided to go 'value' and picked up a 6h rounder in the 4th round...
In todays NFL if you pick a qb w/o completion rate 60% northwards you are reaching (and wasting a pick)

He played with street FA WRs other than Zay Jones, and was their leading rusher. The O line was one of the NFLs worst. Some of his staunchest critics have admitted that he has steadily improved. Bruce Arians said he "won his locker room" very quickly with his toughness and leadership skills. The longest tenured vets( Lorenzo Alexander, Kyle Williams, and LeSean McCoy) love him. A bust? I will be shocked if they don't win 9 or 10 games next season. They won 6 games, he was the QB for 5 of those--all while sitting out 4 1/2 games.
