Was just watching this top 10 episode & was shocked at some of the massive choke jobs some of these teams pulled to blow their shot at the playoffs after 5-0-6-0 & 9-2 starts. In my time as a Giants fan I can only think of the 2009 season when we started 5-0 & ended up 8-8 as coming close to that. I would need therapy if we ever started 9-2 & missed the playoffs. Top 10 collapses according to the episode.
2008 Cowboys- 8-4 going into Dec, lost 3 of last 4 to finish 9-7 & miss playoffs, lost season finale to Philly with playoff spot on the line, 40-8
2000 Jets- 9-4, lose last 3 to finish 9-7, miss playoffs
2008 Jets- 8-3 , go 1-4 the rest of the way to finish 9-7, including season ending loss to Miami & QB Chad Pennington whom they let go for Favre that yr.
1986 Raiders, Started 0-3, then win 8 of next 9 to get to 8-4 then blow last 4 games to finish 8-8
1978 Redskins- Started 8-3 then lose final 5 games to finish 8-8
1987 Chargers- started 8-1 lost final 6 games to finish 8-7 in a season that had a 1 game strike.
2003 Vikings- started 6-0, finished 9-7. Lost season finale with playoff spot on the line to the last place Cards on a GW TD on 4th & 25
2009 Broncos- started 6-0, lost 8 of last 10 to finish 8-8
1994 Eagles- started 7-2, lost last 7 to finish 7-9- Rich Kotite was the HC BTW.
1993 Dolphins- started 9-2, lost last 5 to miss the playoffs. Only NFL team to start 9-2 & not make the playoffs.
I remember the 86' Jets starting 10-1 & then losing their final 5 to back into the playoffs at 10-6 then lose in the div rd to the Browns in a a yr we all thought we were finally gonna get a NY vs NY SB. Any other season collapses anyone can think about?

The biggest collapse was NE going 18-0 and then falling to us in the SB.

True but the we're talking bout 'regular season" collapses. Ours has to be the 09' season when the Giants started out 5-0 & went 3-8 the rest of the way. At 8-6, we still had a shot at making the playoffs, but played like caca in the last 2 games vs Minn & Balt & got destroyed 85-17 in the 2 games.
