Still a lot of wide open wrs early. Hopefully they will progress to playing well for a full game. I'm guessing they were guys assigned to Beal or Ballentine. It is going to be tough sledding until guys get the experience in this system. I agree. But it still looks like a kids soccer game in the backfield at times.

It's called the break and break some more scheme. There plan is to tire out the opposing teams wide receivers, running free all game long takes a lot of stamina.

IMHO the rookie Dbacks played decent and shined a few times - Beal's solo tackle for the safety. Extremely disappointed (pissed off) at #47 Ogletree was horrible in coverage & tackling. The only play he made was knocking the ball out on Fitzpatrick. And kudos to RB J. Allen on his 1st NFL TD.

And we agree #47 is bad.

Guys don't get this wide open because our players aren't talented, they get that wide open from blown assignments. We will only get better with time/experience or a system change.

There are a few really good articles and breakdowns out there of what Bettchers system is and it's actually very complicated. The problem is with 5 out of 6 DBs being brand new to the system and most of them brand new to the NFL there will be a steep learning curve. As you can see Baker in the last couple weeks was completely different than Baker in the first few weeks. The issue is now we are working Beal and Ballentine in and that is leading to more blown assignments. This secondary will look completely different next year if Bettchers stays. If he goes it'll take some time to learn that system (hopefully it won't be as steep a learning curve).

I didn't say the system is great or even good, you asked "is there a system" which clearly there is. Whether good or bad it's there.

We just spent premium picks in the draft this past offseason. After 1 year you want to throw all these players out? So which position are you willing to neglect to spend all these recourses on Pass rush? O line? Linebacker WR(and yes this is a need as well)? Better idea Sign one big free agent (Byron Jones),let the kids develop, invest in the front 7(resign Golden,William's and get Chase Young) That will help a young secondary probably moreso then deleting a bunch of 1st and 2nd year players that are just getting experience and playing you're right about this, pass rush does wonders for a secondary. It is what I’ve been saying for years. Control the LOS on both sides of the ball and it’ll make your team A LOT better
