If one of the top 3 QB's after Lawrence (Fields, Wilson, Lance) drops to the Giants spot at #11, the Giants could have a good opportunity to trade back with a team potentially looking for a QB (Pats, Bears Colts), since I would think that those teams would feel that they have to get ahead of the 49ers at 12 to snag the QB.
Wonder if Getty would make his first trade back if this scenario happens?

I don't really like our position for a team moving up. Think teams in the back half of the draft that need QB's are going to be very active in trading for QB's. Indy, Pitt, N.O., N.E., can't really think of anyone else right now.
There should be QB's that might be available Stafford, Ryan, Wentz ?, Dak in FA ? Dare I say Watson ? But you see what I'm saying.
I think 4 teams in top 10 might go QB in draft. Jax, Jets, Carolina, Atlanta if Ryan is gone, Lions at 4th pick Stafford almost surly gone, Carolina ? Now Dallas should/ must go defense but if Dak is gone ? Andy Dalton ?
Should be a very interesting off season for QB's.

I was thinking about this when I heard PRiv retired. If there's any chance of us trading down, I'd be all in this year. I don't see Parsons or Smith falling to us, and at this point there isn't anyone else that I'm overly excited about. I'm sure that will change.
On the other hand, if the top 3 QB's are gone by 11 that means a couple players may unexpectedly fall to us.

I think that the Jets currently hold the cards with how the draft shapes up. If they keep Darnold, does that mean another non QB prospect off the board at 2? Are they trading back with someone who needs a QB? If they take Fields, are they trading Darnold to one of those QB needy teams, which means one less possibility of a trade up for QB.
The more QBs taken in the top 10 the better for the Giants if they plan on sticking with 11. Less QBs taken the better if they want to trade down. Will definitely be interesting.

It sounds like the Jets will stay with Darnold, which means they should try to trade back. Doesn't seem like WR would be their highest priority, though - so that might not effect our GM's decision making. If we're hoping for one of the top receivers in the first round, this may be one thing to our advantage.

I am in the same boat I think the Jets do in fact stick with Darnold unless maybe a team like the Colts come ringing and offer something good enough for the Jets to consider but even then I think its unlikely. If the Jets stay put and take say Penei Sewell from Oregon, that might open up Miami to take JaMarr Chase at 3 and leaving only two of the top three WRs left just after 3 picks. I personally want Waddle at 11.

And jimmie if your right with them still believing in Darnold they could get a gold mine of top draft choices for that #2 spot.
If they trade Darnold don't think they get a 1st rd. But possibly a 2nd rd pick. They already have two 1st rd picks (they get 2 1st rds this year and next for Jamal Adams) they have two 3rd rd picks. Don't think they have a 2nd rd pick though. Remember the three 2nd rd picks they gave to Indy to move up for Darnold. I believe this year coming up is the 3rd year of that trade.
They could get 1st and 2nd rd picks how many depending how far back their willing to drop back. With Salah as their new HC does he start building a monster defense or does he go load up his franchise QB ?

Phil the Colts are built to win right now they need to plug in a QB. They are pretty damn strong everywhere else. I would talk to Detroit or Atlanta and see what Stafford or Ryan would cost and then give it to them. It should cost less than Watson. Their 1st rd pick is 20 something and so will be the next couple years.
Listening to Cowherd on radio 2 days ago and he has a very daring philosophy. Now listen to this he wants to repeat the R G 3 trade. Offer Houston three 1st rd picks and wow them plus an extra lower pick this year say a 3rd for Watson. Instant top 5 team in the league. Look at the success the Ravens have when Jackson got plugged into a team with everything else. This is where the Colts are at now. Very interesting philosophy go for the SB or bust now while you have the team.
He has me leaning toward this if they could pull it off.

Everything, you stated is true. But, getting Wentz, Ryan or Stafford. Colts inherit there Big contractt. Q.Nelson.and Braden Smith are coming up on there New contracts. Plus, Colts just signed DeForest Buckner to a huge contract. IDK, the Colts cap situation.

Why? I'm sure there will be a few HOF fullbacks available at 11. After all, one can never get enough fullbacks ...

But he never won a playoff game. It seems he doesn't win important games in playoffs of course or the regular season either.
He reminds me of Romo but not as talented. He can get a good team to the playoffs but I don't think he can make a run of victories against good teams.
