NFL channel Bucky Brooks just announced that Stafford is going to be traded before the SB. Terrell Davis thinks Indy is the team that would be the perfect fit. Stafford gets 28 mil per year. Indy has that from Rivers retirement. This makes all the sense in the world and Indy is immediately a threat to K.C. for the AFC championship. I would slow the roll on Stafford immediately turning teams into championship contenders. He has had decent OL’s and good weapons in Detroit and never was able to elevate the team. He’s now 33 with a pretty extensive injury history (although he plays through a lot of his injuries).... He might be able to take the right team to the promised land, but I don’t think that it’s anywhere near a sure thing , now when I wrote this the trade hadn't taken place yet. but now that he is with the Rams (didn't see that one coming) It's a run first offense with a great defense (it should be our blueprint to shoot for next year) that would mean not everything falls on Stafford.
He should look a lot better than he did in Detroit just being on a winner. Don't know how far he can bring them. They made the playoffs with Goff and once even the SB.

suggesting that Watson will go to the Jets is pure insanity, other than money why would any player knowingly go to the Jets so if that did happen Watson would have to get a boatload of money...

Is it really a haul? Let's break it down:
Goff is owed $40 million+ guaranteed over the next 2 years, the league's young QB guru who worked with him daily determined he's not a franchise QB.
2022 and 2023 Round 1s that should be expected to land in the 25-32 range. Using the history of all players selected in that range, odds are they get 1 guy that is a "bust" hangs around for his rookie contract underachieving. And they'll get 1 starter, chance that guy becomes better than the average starter. So let's go with those smaller odds.
Rams get: Stafford
Lions get: Overpaid Goff, a bust, and a good player(who won't be on the team until 2022 or 2023)
For me it's an absolute steal.

Stafford has 0 playoffs wins in 12 years. If Gettleman made this trade I'd want him fired.
This may be good for the Rams for 2021 season but not a good long-term move in my opinion.

Some people like big cities like New York or LA. Easy to hang out with other celebrities and at the most exclusive clubs, etc. Watson has made it clear he would like to play for the Jets.

It could also be that he heard good things about Saleh from his peers. From what I am reading Watson does not see eye to eye with whatand how Easterby wants to run the team. JJ Watt even public called out the front office which is rare. They are going to have a hard time retaing and signing free agents with the rep the Texans have.

I guess I'm not used to players thinking they run the team like a GM. I've been told my whole life to just shut up and do your job - be happy with what you got, and I make far less than 1% of what he does in a year.

He has never said he wants to run anything. If anything he is just trying to hold the owner to his words. I think shit is jacked up there and he just wants out so do others. I really think he is just using the not getting his input heard as a pr spin since the owner publicly stated it. Deshaun hasn't really said anything but can count on sports media to blow this up. I think something else happened behind the scenes that he thinks is irreparable.

Colts, will look to acquire. Stafford , Wentz or Ryan. OK Stafford gone, 1 down 2 to go. I believe your correct. Do you think Watson is in the running. Imagine him on that team ? They would officially be a powerhouse. I'd offer them 3 1st rd picks, and maybe throw in a 3rd this year. Their 1st rd draft choices are going to be in the final 8 picks of the rd.

The Rams seem to trade 1st rd picks every year. Didn't they trade two 1st rd picks for Jaylon Ramsey ? And I'm not sure but I believe they traded another 1st rd pick also. They figure the player they're acquiring is better than the late rd pick they're drafting.

Rich, very good offer. I would want Colts , first pick this year as part of that trade. But, if Miami or Jets offer likewise trade . Higher draft picks. I would add Jimmy G ( 49er ), Dalton , Fitzpatrick , Darnold and Tribusky ,to the Colts list. Second tier but right now Eason is the only QB on roster .

Ya Know Phil something I haven't heard anyone talking about with the Colts, considering they have the money or can work their cap. Dak is a FA, they wouldn't have to give up anything. And I don't hear this on TV or the radio from any of the talking heads on any station.
I'm sure it would cost a minimum of 35-40 mil per year and most of it guaranteed.

Q. Nelson and Braden Smith ( RT ) both are due their Big contracts. Darius Leonard has or is due his contract. Dak, will be expensive and may take a year or more to fully get back .. Personally, I wouldn't go the Dak direction.
