I grew up watching the NFL Today in the 1980's. That show was staple in our household. He was a great man. Rest easy

Irv Cross was well respected by the players because he was one of them. He is similar to Jim Hill out here in Southern California in that regard. The man could get any interview that he wanted.

I was too young to know Irv as a player, but Irv became a part of my Sunday's football tradition. I probably connected to Irv because he was the most youthful of that CBS group, but also because he shared the not-very common first name as my father. RIP
