There are ways to improve the OL without spending a 1st round pick there. I would fully support using that pick on the OL, but there are solid players throughout this draft and the kids on the roster now might surprise us. They may have shown more to the coaches to give them confidence than we have seen. Maybe, but taking a WR in the first is something Reese would have done (Odell), when the team needs offensive line help.....Reese ignored the Oline, I think Gettleman is smarter than that. They spent 3 picks in last years draft on the OL. Not taking one with the 1st pick this year would not constitute ignoring the offensive line. Particularly in a draft that is as deep as this one appears to be on the OL. I think we can find a good player there as late as the 4th round this year. Not all good offensive line players were first round picks.

How did Reese ignore O line* 2013 1st round Pugh 2014 sign Schwartz,Richburg in 2nd 2015 Flowers early in first? It didn't work out but you can't ever say he ignored it Oops I forgot the mo that both of you are respondingto Quack Quack

Unless a guy they are in love with falls to them, I think this is the year that they trade back.

They just weren't very good at finding the OL players while he was GM. I think he often reached just to address the position. If you could accuse him of ignoring it, it would be early in his tenure here. The OL players got old and there was nobody already in the bullpen so to speak. Not like DG has fixed the OL yet either. It looks promising, but can't say we are there yet.

Unless a guy they are in love with falls to them, I think this is the year that they trade back. Possible, but I wouldn't expect it. One, it seems (being generous) DG is reluctant to trade down. Two, you need someone to want to trade up. If a player worth trading up for is on the board, I think the Giants would just take him. If a QB is there that someone is hot for, you might see a deal. I wouldn't get my hopes up on it though.

FWIW Bucky Bruce has both Waddle and Smith falling to us and both corners and Parsons going ahead of us.. He chose Waddle So no chance at Pitts? I would be surprised if Pitts is there at 11. Only chance I see of us landing him is with a trade up if he falls to Detroit.

I think Atlanta will determine a lot. Go QB or they’re trading out. Will that trade be with a Denver before the Giants pick or a will somebody beyond #11 pay a fortune? They will take Pitts

Darrisaw is a very good OT. He actually played is 2020 Yeah still. Id like to trade back to get more draft capital since we only have 6 picks. Only having 6 picks really bothers me. I see teams like the Eagles having 11 and Jags having 10. We need more picks. Remind me why we only have 6?

Lost last years 3rd and this years 5th (154) for Leonard Williams Gained a 6th round pick (201) for Marcus Golden to Arizona Lost a 7th round pick (239) for Isaac Yiadom

What if I said that players that are rookies can improve? I know it's an odd concept for Giants fans but what if we had an OL coach that made his players get better and not worse? Hasn't happened since the TC days but if Judge wants to stay an NFL coach then he will need to get players to improve over what they were in college.
This is a team sport. Our defense was horrible in 2019 because our DBs could not cover anyone. Remember that year with all the WRs just running free and uncovered? Fast forward to the next season with several great pieces added to the DB squad and suddenly (with the help of a new staff) our D was one of the best in the league. Offenses work the same way. The best offensive line on earth can't help if your WRs are not getting open. The best OL can't help if the D can send 5-6 players to rush the QB because there is not threat from WRs and TEs doing anything. You get WRs that threaten the D and suddenly things are a little easier for the OL.
Also there are more rounds to draft players than just the first round. Round 2 in particular should have some very talented OL in it.
Im really just playing devils advocate here since I do want a WR, but we got a couple of WRs who should be able to get open already. Golladay and Ross and Shep and Engram. The young guys SHOULD improve but it is not a given. IMO, we need better play at both G positions and both T positions. My hope is Thomas develops into a stud dependable LT and I think there is a good possibility of that. Hernandez Im just not sure about. Gates took over the C spot. Losing Zeitler is rough. Lemieux? Still an unknown IMO. RT? Peart? Maybe. I feel OL is still the biggest need of the team to make the team better going forward. Hopefully the coaching makes it less of a need than a lot of us think, and that can happen. Shep is starting to lose a step it was difficult for him to get open last year and he's on concussion from retirement. I think it's time to cut bait and draft his replacement who can take a more prominent role next season when we move on.

Gettleman pulled off a great trade....that loser Reese would have picked another bust. Too bad the Giants ever hired that hack Reese.
