Former Pats OT Eugene Chung claims he was told by an NFL team that he wasn't the "right" minority when he interviewed for a coaching job this past season.

Couldn't read the article, the page wouldn't scroll down for me. But from this statement it is awful if this is what happened. Apparently are we passed the point of hiring the best person for the job ?
It is so hard to comment on this subject without offending somebody.
No matter where you fall on this subject it's unfair to somebody imo.

I hope this not true. It would be a sad state of society to think we still hold on to the petty differences that separate us and ignore the commonalities that make us humans.

I don't believe this would happen for 98% of peeps here. But there's a lot of crazy physical attacks on both Asians and Jews recently.
The fringe is the fringe and dangerous. And they are (both right and left) being encouraged.

The political violence/hatred/animus originates 95% from one direction. Those that subscribes to that place like to think that is 'fringe' or it is everywhere evenly distributed. It is not. Fast becoming mainstream there Those people are deluding themselves and think that way to make themselves feel better about themselves for subscribing..
The good thing is that it is geographically concentrated. The views are not shared by a majority of the USA, outside of those areas.. Another amazing thing is that the views are not recent and has been fostered and stokes for decades. I'll post some things later to prove my points

Hard to imagine that this actually happened At this point, he has to name the team and the representative that said it. If his plan was to keep it under the radar so other teams might hire him, he's lost that ground. He needs to put a name to it and let the chips fall where they may.

Everyone should get a fair shake but at the end of the day you should be hiring the best person for the job, not trying to checkoff some artificial box.

Well, if that team was looking to hire a minority HC, and not just the mandatory interview - can we assume that they currently have one? Seems to narrow this down, quite a bit.

Pepper Johnson must be the wrong minority as well. He can’t buy a job right now in the NFL, and has never had a defensive coordinator job in 31 years in the NFL as a player and coach.

Hard to imagine that this actually happened I believe that this happens. The though to believe part for me is the fact that a someone actually thought it was ok to straight up say that directly to the candidate.

I hope this not true. It would be a sad state of society to think we still hold on to the petty differences that separate us and ignore the commonalities that make us humans. I still don't understand how anyone can go through life and not realize that most organizations are inherently racist... Nothing I care to debate about on here because I realize that this board contains a s--t load of people that have zero clue what is going on outside of their cul de sacs. And the main racist will follow me into this thread and quote me...Just watch.

Surprised? Not one bit
Angered? Yes...as the shear stupidity of the interviewer for handling it like that.
Requiring the interviewing of minorities had to be done because there are way too many prejudice assholes in this world. When its all said and done the best person should be hired. That of course is a pipe dream to some degree. As long as there are human beings alive there will be prejudice.
