Hmmm ... don’t recall reading anything about the Jets disciplining him for his weight last year. Interesting....

Who’s he kidding. When he says “fish and veggie lane.” I’m thinking a whale shark and a pallet of broccoli are on the menu.

Wasn't this guys playing weight last year somewhere around 335-340 ? He's 6'7" or 6'8" isn't he ? What did this guy balloon up to ? He has to be on the wrong side of 350 and who knows how far north of that figure.

Yeah, we all were worried about that...remember a few comments on the NY Pizza *guilty * Something I suggested Peart hit hard actually (and Wheeler before him ) He was on nobodies radar and a freak at 400 pounds at Louisville...new staff made him diet to 360, and kid was the biggest riser on those draft boards. I guess he's back hovering at the 400 again...the risk you get when finding an eater. Jets will get him back into playing weight...how many years he can keep it off and play tackle will be the challenge. Who was the OL guy from the Cowboys who was all pro and silly overweight? When they had the Great Wall of Dallas....

Get pulled over, and viola.. 213lbs is all but vanished.

someone should show him wondrhealth.com/I've lost 125 lbs using their methodology. Which is what , the site looks interesting buy very few of those programs worked for me. it focuses on 2 main things - when to eat, and how to eat. When to eat is determined by being attuned to hunger, and only eating meals when hungry. Eliminating stress eating, etc. When you eat, take small bites, chew slowly, put your fork down. After 10 minutes, take a 5 minute break, before eating the rest of your meal. Once you feel full, stop eating, no need to "clear your plate" like most of us were taught.

The first weakness on his Draft Profile on NFL is "Weight could become a major issue without discipline". I do remember hearing a lot about his weight at the time of the draft.

For weight loss the GLP-1 agonists (Trulicity, Ozempic etc) are fantastic drugs. Originally just for diabetics they are now getting indications for weight loss. They act by decreasing stomac emptying and in central nervous system to decrease appetite. My patients love these drugs and I’m not seeing serious side effects.

Every meal shouldn’t be a banquet.

That is one of the thing I did to go from 218 to 190.

a guy his size there are two things you worry about
The shear mass of his own body causing constant injury and delaying recovery.
Trying to maintain physical conditioning and weight. OK when he's in his early 20s but it drops like a rock very soon.
IMO he is out of the league in 5 seasons or less. Thought this prior to the draft when the NYGs took Thomas. Becton was my last choice and by a big margin

It is rumored he came to mini camp above that.

Its appetite control and self-control..you know stop eating at the 3000 cal mark Unless you are a tour de france bicyclist ingesting 11,000 cal/day + is nor a good idea
Geez he ain't alone though, the fatsos are taking over society, I've never seen so many tub thumpers, hobbling, wobbling down the street, malls, public places in my life. Its like a source of pride being fat.. I can say this cuz I'm an ex tub thumper myself. Lost 105 lbs circa 1999. I was 5' 7" 253 lbs and pre-diabetic Took me 9 months. calorie control and cutting out the process garbage. Running 5 miles/day also helped
Unfortunately over the years gained half of that back. So Dec 2019 went on a different plan related to Atkins, cut out the crap, process foods, you know the usual. Now I am near my goal ~ 145 lbs size 31 waist (down from 37 in 2019) eating mostly nutrient dense food and listening to my body..Haven't had a bagel in 3 years. Pizza every other month. Carbs don't hold the allure as it once did and I don't crave it. Sleep well and don't need an alarm to wake up

it self control for sure but are a first hand witness to how hard it can be and how one can fall back. Over eating is as much a mental health issue as it physical.

I understand what you are getting at the stigma with mental health is that it perceives a person to be be "nuts" or severely damaged psyche-wise. Mental health is like physical health overall. Needs to be tended to in varying degrees by every single person

He will have a short career.
Really talented guy but let’s be real he has gone back and forth between like 330 and 400 pounds pretty much on an annual basis since he was a kid in college. That is *horrible* for your health. If he goes down with an injury no way in hell he keeps the weight off while rehabbing. He needs rehab for food addiction.
