Can't way to learn how that contract breaks down. Very, very buzzy to just throw out those general terms though. The league will evolve and teams will evolve to combat "once you pay your QB, you can't have other nice things." I'd imagine there are some very Buffalo friendly things in there, otherwise if it were that straightforward, it would be wild.

The deal doesn't kick 8n till 2024 so it's 6 years after the end of his rookie deal (same thing they did with Mahomes) So it's actually an 8 year deal Pro rated bonus money starts this year You have to also figure 2024 and 2025 are very large guaranteed years as well..

He's one of the best in the league at the most important position in the league. I'm glad that he got his money.

The Bills definitely got the better end of this deal. It's about $43 million a year over 6 years. This is a team friendly deal. With how the QB market is and how their contracts are skyrocketing most QBs now only do 4 year deals, anything more and your basically giving the other side all the leverage. Dak Prescott's contract for example is for 4 years that pays $40 million a year.
Patrick Mahomes contract which is a 10 year deal could end giving him $50.3 million each year. He's probably going to be the highest paid QB over the entire term of his contract, so he didn't really give up any leverage since he won't need to renegotiate his contract.

Unfortunately living in NY combined with the horrible state income taxes that will only rise at least 40% of that number gets stolen from him against his will by threat of force

Unfortunately living in NY combined with the horrible state income taxes that will only rise at least 40% of that number gets stolen from him against his will by threat of force eeh....this is all figured in the value of the contract. If he was in another state with lower taxes etc the total value of the contract would have been less. Its all negotiated for the net not the gross

I even have to pay an annual 800 fee to maintain my independent LLC away from my primary job. SMDH.

I believe that those of us living in NJ have the worst overall tax burden of all, regardless, all three states take it on the chin in that area. Of course it used to be offset by much better job opportunities then elsewhere, but that advantage has faded over the years.

He earned it through performance. who did, Allen? What has he done to earn 250 million? Improved talent.... each year, with last year being an MVP candidate? 150 million guaranteed...43 million per season...40 which is becoming the standard for franchise QB's and will be heading forward You might need to begin churning a figure in that rusty mind of yours for Daniel Jones if he plays this year like a prime Chad Pennington .... 35 per? 40 per?

He earned it through performance. who did, Allen? What has he done to earn 250 million? based on how the NFL works he has proved himself to be the franchise and the future so in that regard he has earned the contract.

Thats a hell of a deal. Keeping great QBs is pricey. My only concerns are his durability and he really only had one great year. Last year. Quite the big gamble.

The death sentence for any team is the big QB contract . Once a team gets out did of that 10,11 12 percent spending on the QB position as a group. Wins begin to suffer . In 2023 Allen's cap hit is 40 million to remain in that 10% threshold . The cap would have to 400 million. No f-ing way it will get to that . At 250 million IMO. The high end of where it will be. That is 16% .The stats I did show the further a team is away from that 10 to 12 percent on the upper end .The less wins a team has. There are exceptions to the rule a season here a season there. The overall out come for that duration of that contract is a sub 500 record. 70% chance of that.
