Some had this same reaction about Isaiah Simmons last season.

Some had this same reaction about Isaiah Simmons last season. Parsons is a much better prospect IMO. What I am shocked to hear is that Jaylon Smith is struggling so bad they might be trying to trade him. Parsons fills that need. He was my #2 prospect overall in the draft talent wise.

ehh wahtever.. the NYGs could have gone a few different ways.
You can only draft one player at a time.

Parsons has all the talent in the world. People were nervous about his off the field antics. Parsons has a chance to be great. Thats undeniable.

Some had this same reaction about Isaiah Simmons last season. Are we giving up on Isaiah Simmons? I always said he was beyond the most overrated guy in the early part of tbe draft last year His fanboys said he would be an instant impact game changer from day one and I correctly said he had major flaws in his game (questionable instincts and was a product of being on a loaded defense where his size wasn't a liability)and that it would take him a bit to be decent, which is exactly what he saw (his rookie year wasn't much better if at all than our Mr Irrelevant Crowder if you want the truth )

Smith was starting to fade last year badly, that knee was eventually going to start to disintergrate(aaand of course Jerruh threw all that money at him after his one really good year) People fearing he was going to be part of a beasly LB group Parsons basically replaces Smith Van Der Esch might not even make it to a 2nd deal witb his health issues... All those top draft recourses spent at one position on defense and they could end up with just one guy.....

I look for Smith to be cut after this year. Doubt they'll (Cows) will find a trade partner. There are rumors his knee could be deteriorating kinda like Todd Gurley's did.
Vander Esch I think will be offered a new contract IMO if he stays healthy. Looking very good in camp so far.
Parsons has shown outstanding talent and I think they'll tailor the D to fit his skillset. His supposed weakness was pass coverage but that has been pretty decent so far. Jabril Cox (4th rd) is even more raw than Parsons but has good potential with pass coverage being his strong suit.
I know I'm a Cow fanboy but I really think this D is going to be substantially better, especially toward the end of the season. I will say again here that a whole, whole lot of the Cowboy's defensive issues was Mike Nolan's scheme and also no time to install such a complicated scheme. Coach Mike McFat bears some responsibility for not reining Nolan in early on.
The best defense in the division should be WFT with NYG right behind. NY should have the best secondary. The East will be interesting.

Parson has been a model citizen. I'm not the least bit worried about his conduct. 2nd round pick Kelvin Joseph is a different story.
