.....in any pre-season game? mine is 2 years.
I really don't get it.
Pre-Season USED to be about conditioning and getting game ready, gelling as a unit in game conditions, as well as individual player evaluation.
Teams are so paranoid about their starters getting injured in a "meaningless" pre-season game. I know that today's players are in better physical condition than the past, but IMO there's no substitute for game conditions. I expect injuries due to lack of proper conditioning to increase. So you won't lose the player in pre-season, but maybe in week 1 or 2. Maybe they'll feel better about that.

Paranoid is the correct word. Players need to get hit, players need game reps. Gosh darn football is a physical sport.
I would hope some of our starters play in this 2nd game including Daniel Jones. Can't we protect him for the 1st qtr ? I'm sure I'm in the minority but I would be interested in seeing Saquon in the 3rd game for 4-5 carries just to get hit a few times. Simple runs off tackle nothing even where he cuts on routes or end runs. There's 2 weeks to recover after the 3rd game.
I just feel our players need game reps and contact. Even for 8-10 plays a game.
