Look at Kevin Stefanski, he's a step ahead of the other team. You think Keenum is a good QB? Their best player on offense has missed most of the season. They have no player makers outside the RB's. No deep passes, no big plays, just moving the chain all night. That's what brilliant play calling is. Coaching doesn't make some difference, it makes all the difference. I agree...side note...had Stefanski been allowed to come here, he wouldn't even be a head coach right now. May not even be a coordinator. Timing is a crazy thing, and so are the rules. The Vikings were effectively able to block career advancement for him at the time (they hired defillipo to take over for Shurm, didn't promote the Stefanski right away) and it worked out better for him.

Elite HCs can turn shit into soup and feed their base. The issue is, there are not many of them in the NFL and we cant expect to get one. There are probably only 3-4 HCs who no matter who you put on their team will make that team overachieve consistently. Then you look at last nights game and realize, drafting a RB at #2 by DG was probably the dumbest thing we could have done in 2018. The Browns didnt have their RB Nick Chubb who ironically was drafted a full round after SQB in 2018, so they plugged in this kid named D'Ernest Johnson. He only went 22 for 146 and a TD. And he was undrafted in that 2018 class, along with pro bowler Phillip Lindsay. That said, this game kinda reminded me of our game last year vs Seattle. Gallman tore it up. McCoy didn't lose the game for us. The upset was pulled off. Judge was the coach there, but it hasn't been consistent enough. In fact, that was the rare moment this team overachieved.

Right now there are only a handful of players and coaches that NOT part of the problem.
Judge is currently part of the problem. He knows this and said it straight up. Thats cool that he acknowledges it but....
For those who are reading between the lines there is no way Judge means this any other way than that he is "head" of the fish. Its not a jab at the GM or the FO.

Its actually a good step for Judge to finally say something like this. Coaches can develop too.

Judge winning over Seattle, in Seattle, with Colt McCoy is eclipsed. Why? B/c a loaded Browns team defeated the Bridgewater led Broncos w/o their QB?
Take out the Browns QB, HB, practically all the receivers, most of the OL, remove the pass rush and go play the Rams. See how that goes and then blame the coach. No coach wins with this team and we’re at four coaches in a row with countless draft picks who either misses, injured or already cut.

Much like Jones, Judge has his own faults to overcome and with the state of the roster it makes that much more difficult. Not all on Judge but he is part of the problem at at the moment. I still like him I just want him to pare his pressers down to 3 minutes and talk less.

Similar too the LOUD the minority who screamed about Eli being benched despite being done now default to the coach. Frustrated, i get it but the roster is not good. What can the guy do? Team is not equipped to run block, the receivers are out so the opponent floods the passing lanes while the defense can’t stop the run nor rush the opposing QB. The personnel is mediocre to below average.

Fans killed Mac for repeating “have to look at the tape” rather than throw his players under the bus. Shumur made little sense and now get on Judge. Always look for reason to hate the coach. Am i wrong it appears the most upset fans are the ones who praised this team all offseason and did a 180 after two weeks? Now it’s anything coach related yet the same fans aren’t killing the players. None are even mentioned.

Yeah, he should tell the media the roster stinks and nobody in the audience is qualified to take his position

I dont hate the coach where did you get that from? I am not doing a 180 either. Judge as he is growing into the HC position is part of the problem. If you dont agree thats fine.

And I'm not downplaying the Browns. They have a few of really good players, and some good players. Garrett is the only elite player. Mayfield is not a great QB. They're certainly not head and shoulders above the league. But damn they're fundamentally sound, and you don't need to be loaded with talent to be that way.

Some writers try to hype it up which i guess is their job. When the org spends $200 million yet the money in Vegas says 7 wins tells you all we need to know about the talent. Now, whatever talent they had was depleted due to injury and that 7 dropped to 4 before Week 3. We deserve better
