Sadly this board spends way too much time feeling good about the failures of other teams. Our OL is downright awful and has been for YEARS. I am taking no victory lap in another teams OL being bad.

I'm going to have to disagree with you BBD. The reason for the Chiefs woes doesn't lie with their offense, it lies with their pathetic defense. The Chiefs are a top 8 offense even with that pathetic showing this week. They are scoring on average 26.9 per Game. In 2020, they were scoring 28.5. They could even end the year with a similar amount of point scored as 2020 and they would still have their troubles. In 2021, the Chiefs are allowing 29 points per game on average. in 2020, they were allowing 22.8. They are allowing almost a full TD more than 2020 so far this year.

Agree but when they have faced some decent fronts that when the trouble starts for them up front their defense is the main culprit but their OL has had issues holding up.

It's just funny they hadn't played a snap and people were talking like the built the dallas cowboys in the heyday OL they are better then our OL that is for sure but they are not better then the OL they had .

Their offense is scoring that much because they have one of the best QBs, best WRs and best TEs in football. It's not because their OL is good. Their OL has been pretty damn bad this year actually. There is also a huge difference from 26.9 and 28.5 points a game. That is comparing the Chiefs (#6) to the Vikings (#11) last year. I doubt anyone would say the Vikings were almost as good as the Chiefs last year.

It's a 1 game outlier (After 7 games) between the points of 26.9 and 28.5. 1.6 x 7 = 11.2 points. If the Chiefs scored 15 points yesterday instead of 3, they would be averaging MORE points in 2021 than in 2020. I never said their Oline was good, it isn't. Their defense is giving up 6.2 more points per game in 2021. Their defense is clearly their biggest problem by far. Unfortunately, the Giants will most likely get them back on track next week. Monday night football and primetime is almost a guaranteed loss...

My point was more just like the Giants with there defense that everyone thought would be a lock top 10 unit throwing assets and money at something doesn't always make it better, I think KC might have moved on at the right time for some of them but we had people acting like they built a top 5 OL not the case.

As far as our game with them, to bad our guys are not healthy because i think they could of scored a lot of points against KCs defense don't know if they can do it in the state they are in now.

The point the OP was making is that there was a big thread made about how amazing the Chiefs are because they rebuilt their OL in 1 year when the truth is their OL stinks. I agree with you the issue with the Chiefs is their D, it always has been.
Monday night, primetime, in KC, them coming off a horrible game, us coming off a great defensive game...all the makings of a disaster for us. I'm hoping Toney shows up on the big stage and balls out though.

It was a foolish post to boast about an OL before they ever played a snap.

Is Toney playing? That would at least give the Giants a small chance...

Fact is there aren't many great OLs in any given NFL season. The teams that are better at scheming around it do better. But come playoffs, the teams with better OL and DL usually succeed. Mahomes is a perfect example. A very talented player with bad play in both trenches. And Brady, an experienced old fart with very good players on both sides of the ball.
