Wow. I know the change with the pitchers using substance was obvious, or at least I thought it was, but if they switched back to the juiced ball, that is damning. The juiced ball was tighter wound and a bit heavier, so it can easily effect spin rates and all that. If this is true, which it appears to be, Manfred needs to be immediately relieved of his duties. They could literally control games how they wanted to with that. Imagine only some teams got certain balls while others didnt? Yeah. It's crazy.

Feel so sorry for Pitchers like Seaver & Ryan, who pitched 300+ innings, 20+ CGs a yr & got paid peanuts & now these pitchers who couldn't carry their jock straps get paid $30-$40 mil a yr to pitch 200 innings & maybe get 2 CGs a yr. Don't even have to win 20 game anymore to get the Cy Young either. Pathetic!

These closers WANT to be out there 2 to 3 innings... Now we have teams that go bullpen the entire game on purpose

If not Bryant I wonder if Trevor Story would play 3rd He would be ideal. is he as good as the Colorado altitude? Guessing he’s going to cost a fortune and not sure if the bat is real. What do you think? Did Arenado magically become trash for the Cardinals? Story is a hell of a ball player.

Last time I saw a full 9 inning game was when the Mutts lost to KC in game 5 of the 2015 WS.

Buck Showalter sure sounds like a dufus in his presser. Be surprised if he makes it past year 2.

Buck has been around for 30-40 years. He's a major league guy. As good as any other re tread you can find. Builds teams to improvement can't win big games. Has never won a world series I believe. Has he ever been in a world series ?
But knows baseball inside out, is a baseball lifer he loves it. What more can you ask ? Hope he has success.

Smart experienced guy. If there's a downside, it's his age and possibly relating to young players. But I'm an optimist (yes even with the Mets). I think he was the best choice.

Maybe they're going to use a hybrid approach. I'm not aware of any pure moneyball team that has ever won anything.

Also only after watching did I realize the misguided why for trading Kevin Mitchell. One of the most criminally dumb moves this organization has ever made.

Man, for this to be settled that quickly one of two things happened. The owners gave the players pretty much everything they wanted or the players took a shit deal. If this is true, my money is on the latter.

If this is true, my money is on the latter. Not sure it's true either. And I really don't care who "won." I tend to root for the players, but everyone in this game is making so much more than most fans it's rediculous. I just want a real baseball season. I stopped watching baseball for years after the last walkout many years ago. Hope greed doesn't win again.
