Then when the new HC and GM come in, they will have to make the decision on whether they think Daniel Jones is the future of this franchise. Everything else can be fixed, but if the new coach and FO don't think they can win with him, then they're not staking their careers on the kid.
To those that say that he will get a 4th year since there are no other options, then you clearly haven't been watching what other teams have been doing for the past decade. No struggling QB gets the starting job for another season by default. Teams FO either bring in competition through free agency or the draft. An more recently we've seen teams willing to trade their QBs for the right price (i.e. Stafford to the Rams).
If the new HC and GM believe they can't win with Daniel Jones, then they will free up the necessary cap space or push some of that dead money onto the following years when the new TV money kicks in and they will look at free agency for someone like Marcus Mariota who signed last season for 1 year $3.5 million.
Now if they don't like anyone in free agency or our new HC happens to be someone like Lane Kiffin or Eric Bieniemy they will target Matt Corral in the draft. A kid who if he can stay healthy looks like he's a franchise QB that you can build your team around.
If both Gettleman and Judge are fired then Mara should bring in guys from outside the organization without forcing them to keep or get rid of Daniel Jones. That decision should be solely made by our new HC and GM.

This is a shit qb class ...even Corral at this point has a 2nd round grade Teams will finish with a worse record that are legit in need of a qb or have nore firepower to move up(Detroit has all but locked up top pick overall] Unless Jones goes full Darnold or Trubisky he will be here next year and they probably give him the option year as well (these can be recinded) If he doesn't hit the ceiling many of us feel he can reach at least on paper (and a lot of wishful thinking)if we go outside the organization and get new blood the team is a lot more built up. |

I feel Jones will be able to rebound if Thomas comes back healthy and they get Solder off the field with Peart moving right. Last night was not his greatest moment but he was not the problem he was under constant duress and made plays by moving and getting the ball to his backs and Playmakers in space. our issue was we gave away to much on dumb penalties and had a few dropped picks but the defense wasn't an issue either it was OL OL OL. |

Will that work...probably not, because nothing works with the New York Giants over the last 10 years. they’re never on the same page - Mara forces new coordinators on Coughlin - Mara forces out Coughlin - Mac goes 11-5 and forced out b/c of the Eli debacle - Gettleman is in b/c he caved to Eli and Shumur saves QB’s - Shumur is forced out b/c Eli didn’t work out and Jones is new - Judge joins to develop a Jones with no weapons - Gettleman is almost out but let’s bring in a new GM who keeps the coach and same offense for Jones it’s never a new GM, new coach, new QB. It’s always a shuffle |

They actually adapt to the players they have (they also since last year used outside weapons to force defenses to have to defend the entire field which is why Henry has been feasting as you can't play the run and make Tannehill beat you because Tannehill was beating teams ) |

This isn't correct. According to the new CBA, once the fifth year option is exercised it becomes fully guaranteed rather than the first day of the league year for the option. Meaning if you pick up a players option you cannot rescind it without incurring a dead money cap hit. source |
